I purchased these as Mother's Day gifts for my daycare moms. We made flowers out of handprints on the inside covers. It was a very inexpensive gift that became a cute keepsake!

I Love You Mommy is one of a series of books (Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa also). In each, Baby Bear learns valuable lessons from one of his relatives. As he learns he appreciates not only the life lessons, but also his love for whoever he is interacting with. In I Love You Mommy, the headstrong Baby Bear rushes into several situations while Mommy Bear tries to offers some words of advice. Without waiting to listen, Baby Bear finds he makes mistakes and cannot complete the task. However, after listening to Mommy Bears lessons he has no trouble with the task. By the end of the book, Baby Bear has learned to stop and listen to his mother's advice before jumping into the situation.These books are wonderfully illustrated. THe colors are vibrant, and the characters (although two-dimensional) seem separate from the page as they contrast beautifully with the background. Although Baby Bear seems somewhat "masculine" the books are gender-neutral so that both boys and girls can relate to the little bear and appreciate the message (There may be a few instances where Baby Bear is referred to as "he," however, it would be easy to replace that with a "she" if reading to a girl without it being noticed). Although I Love You Daddy is our family's favorite, the other books within the series are a worthy addition to our collection.

Before purchasing, I read a review that said the “I Love You, Mommy” book is not nearly as sweet as the other books in the series. I bought the Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa books and I can tell you that I should have listened to that review. The Mommy book feels like a mom telling a kid to be careful and him learning after messing up, whereas the other books are more of the kid learning through fun and stories with the adult. I don’t dislike it enough to bother returning it (or maybe I do? I’m on the fence.)Long story short, I say skip this book and find a different book to show Mommy how loved she is.

I got this for my wife ( via my kid lol ) and she may have cried a little.Its a great book and worth the money to see the happy looks on their faces while reading it together.

Different book than pictured. Thought I was purchasing the book pictured that matched the "I love you Daddy" book but this book is different.
