Safariland Bianchi 6006-1-21: ALS Guard PLN Blk Rh, Rh, 0, Black

This works great on my 6378 ALS holster (for Glock 20SF with TLR-1 light attached). Installed in less than two minutes. Quick and easy to use, but does require you train some with it to be proficient. IMO the Safariland ALS system on its own already provides better security than any Blackhawk Serpa holsters I have used (the BSH gun-hand index finger release out away from the user's body can be easily accessed by any potential thief if you're not alert). Since the ALS gun-hand thumb release is up against the user's body, it is inherently less easy for a potential thief to access. This ALS trigger guard makes it just a bit more difficult for anyone else to take your gun away from you. IMO in a nutshell, the Blackhawk Serpa holster systems I have used allow a faster draw, but the Safariland ALS holster systems (alone) provide better security. This ALS guard adds to / enhances that security. I will buy more for my other two 6378 ALS holsters (for my SIG Sauer M11-A1 and my wife's P229R with TLR-1 light).

I'm a plain clothes investigator and I wanted a little more security than the als system by itself. It mounted to my 7377 duty holster fine, but I did have to get rid of a plastic piece because the screws weren't long enough to go back together. I like that it keeps the weapon very secure but is still very concealable. I like this system better than the index finger button because this is less obvious to the bad guy. It turned my level one holster to level two. With training it's almost as fast but feels a lot safer from bad guys trying to steal my weapon.

Takes a good holster and makes it great. I have always been a Blackhawk Holster guy but recently switched to a Safariland, once i found a quick detachable belt loop. This is a must have addition that ads a needed level of security to a holster for which the gun seems to almost want to come out of. The Safariland Draw isn't much changed from adding this level of security, as specially for someone using a Safariland for the first time.I would suggest a training barrel or some red gun practice before fielding this; as I would suggest with any holster change.I would also not this does add a little angle out to the top of the holster; the tip out is enough however to not need spacers to fit the quick detach version under a vest.My only reason for 4 stars was due to having to fit an 8-32 screw to one of the top wholes because my only 2 of my 3 original holster mounting screws were long enough after installing the guard.

Bought this for a Safariland 7378 Glock 19 holster, and it fits great. When it arrived the part was a little thicker than I had expected so I was concerned about the fitment, but it was not an issue at all. Installation is very easy and the tool is included. The mechanism is just a touch too stiff for my liking, but I expect it will loosen up a little with some more use. However, it's definitely not going to move on it's own in either direction which is a good thing.

Perfect alternative to the L3 hood. Can be moderately gritty to operate brand new but begins to function smoothly over a short amount of time.Easy to train with. Pushing forward with your thumb, your thumb is already in position to push “in” to actuate the ALS retention.

I purchased this to add to my ALS holster to increase the retention to level 3 due to policy requirements. It does exactly that. It is a little tight at first, but practicing draws loosened it up a little bit. I did not want it to become too loose, so it is perfect right where it is. It takes an intentional motion to deactivate it, so the odds of it disengaging unintentionally is next to zero. Its large enough to find with your thumb immediately but not large enough that it is obstructive or digs into your side when wearing your holster, even in a vehicle, but that can also depend on body type.If you need to increase the retention on your holster, this is the way to go.
