Great product
I was having pain with my thumb/wrist and from the reviews I thought I would tried this product. I have only been wearing it for a couple days so far and I feel it may cure my pain that I have been experiencing for a while now. I would recommend this product.

Well worth the money: Well made
Well made and does an admirable job keeping my thumb in an anatomically neutral position

Good Initial Support | Poor Quality Control | Design Flaw
RE: Ossur Formfit Thumb Spica Wrist BraceOver the course of a few weeks, I have purchased and returned several of these. They are certainly comfortable and well-padded and they look well constructed initially, but invariably the stitching breaks loose or even worse, after only a week, the sharp corner of the metal thumb stay punctures through the fabric at the top of the thumb making it unsafe to wear.I believe there is a design flaw with the thumb stay. It doesn't follow the curvature of the inside of the thumb so it is destined to protrude and rupture the fabric at the top corner.I've read some reviews that have stated that they cannot return this brace. You better believe you CAN return it if it's not fit for purpose after only a very short time. Like I said, I've already returned several through Amazon Returns and by golly I'll keep doing it if I have to until somebody gets the message.

Works well overall. Recommended.
Pros: Stable. Sturdy. Helped my Dequervain tenosynovitis in about 5 days.Cons: Bulky. If made too tight can be uncomfortable. But it's easily adjustable.

Outer material is cheaply made. Not durable.
Material is not durable. Fabric started to wear away after about 3 weeks of use and then after 4 weeks the meatal started to poke out. So sometimes when I touch my face with the hand that has the brace on it, I would scratch my face with the meatal that sticks out. Sent a message to the seller about it and have not heard back from them. It would be an awesome brace if it was made with better outer material. The inside is nicely padded. If you purchase this item and the material starts to wear away send it back right away for a new one or a refund. It will not just wear away a little. It will get worse.

Orhtopedist recommended
The orthopedist recommended these for both hands due to carpal tunnel AND tenosynovitis. I like the braces, however there's a slight design flaw (in my opinion) where the metal ends near the base of the thumb. The metal is Squamish and the corner pushed through the fabric after a week or so. Not enough to lessen the efficacy, but annoying none the less.I have very small wrists, I ordered an xsmall and there is still quite a bit of excess velcro that hangs and dangles. (I cut the toes off of a suck and pull the sock over the whole brace to keep all the flaps in order, also helps to keep it cleaner.Overall they are very comfortable and I can sleep in the. They're a little on the bulky side, but still not too much of a problem during sleep.

The thumb strap is updated in a good way, it no longer leaves the scratchy velcro ...
This is my second time ordering this brace. It is now apparently an updated version - it does not even match the pictures on the listing anymore. The thumb strap is updated in a good way, it no longer leaves the scratchy velcro open to snagging clothing/blankets. However, the bottom strap is changed so that it can't go around the arm to attach on the far end of the strap - unfortunately this means it won't work for people with thinner arms (where the older design was great). So very sad, I think I will need to return it. I have and use the older version for De Quervain's tendonitis for which it is awesome.

Ossur... More like No sir!
Sad to say that I'm extremely disappointed by this brace. It fell apart at the seams (literally) within one week of wear. Both the metal thumb and wrist stays popped through the material and were visible. Removing them from the brace resulted in my need to cut away all the remaining flapping material that was holding the stays into the brace. As a result, the integrity of the brace was compromised and it is now unwearable. Additionally, the area through which you place your hand is made of a light sweatband like material that is much shorter than the brace itself. Since the velcro straps overlap this portion that section frayed as well. I'm beyond surprised at the poor quality of an Ossur product!
