Durable replacement for flimsy, unreliable stock coolant flange.
Used this to replace the flimsy coolant flange. Done the job while doing the OFHG replacement. When removing the coolant hose from the Oil Filter Housing, the original stock flange broke off... luckily I had considered the possibility of this happening and thought ahead of time to also purchase this Rein CHC0609 coolant flange. A bit more expensive than other similar products but the fit is perfect and the clamp is super high quality and easy to install while providing a tight, secure fit. Highly recommended for all BMW owners running N55, N54, N52 engines.

Don't risk it with those cheap flanges. This just works.
tldr: Save yourself the hassle, this flange works and is worth the extra money.I bought the cheapest coolant flange on Amazon because a metal flange is a metal flange, right? Well not quite, the o ring that came with the flange was just about too big. This is what I determined after about an hour of tearing my hands up trying to wrestle it into place with no luck. I tried lube, pry bar, using the offset bolts to force it to seat and it just never seated the bottom side. The worst part is that the old plastic flange failed during removal, so I was left with an unusable vehicle. I immediately ordered this flange because I KNEW it would work.Now, I could have tried going to the dealership or find an auto parts store with the o ring in stock ($6) but then what if the recessed area for the o ring was just about too shallow and this would happen with even a OE o ring? I didn't want to play that game and risk having to wait longer with an unusable car, this was supposed to be a 10-20 minute install that turned into a 30 hour one. It's pretty much a one time purchase so I'm glad to spend the extra $13 on a quality product. It took less than 2 minutes to push this one in place and seats with a satisfying thunk, no leaks...nice and snug in there. JOBS DONE.

Saw a youtube video for bmw saying to replace this asap mine is still orignal i brough for when the coolent change is done in the spring replacing this part will be ease of mind not worried about plastic braking appart but also have it in case it brakes before

Beautiful snug fit. Clamp easy to adjust to tighten bolts. If you have a plastic orig mickey flange replace immed with this. Cheap easy fix for what could be catastrophic loss in the middle of nowhere with no fluid.
