Great for Both "Food-Makeover Beginners" AND Wellness Experts
This is an awesome, no-nonsense guide to avoiding the bad stuff (chemical additives, preservatives, gmo ingredients, etc) and replacing it with good. Stefanie's discussion of each bad ingredient explains simply why you should be concerned, citing scientific facts, without feeling overwhelming or fear-mongering.Not only is this book a great guide for food-makeover beginners, but it's also beneficial for those who closely follow the subject of wellness. Stefanie adds informative historical context to each of the topics to help you understand not only how to avoid the bad stuff, but also how it's found it's way into our food system in the first place. She shines a light on areas of our food system that need change and what you can do TODAY to avoid harmful ingredients sneaking their way onto your plate.

I stopped counting calories!
Stefanie saved me from a prison of counting calories! I counted them for 10 years and I could never control y weight! Now, I eat amazingly healthy foods with a few cheat items here and there. I eat more than my husband. I don't remember the last time I counted a calorie and my weight is less than what I was in high school with no fluctuations. More importantly, my relationship with food is healthy! I enjoy food now! I do not run from it! I love making it, eating it and talking about it. Thank you for putting so much amazing information into a book about eating REAL food the RIGHT way! You are incredible and I will always be thankful for you!

The truth
I have had the book for a while and just last week really decided to read it really. The kids and I throw out all of the afticfical stuff and went to the local market and purchased honey (local of course) and maple syrup. It is very informative and gives you locations to looks to back up what she is saying.

Great Book
I really enjoyed this book. The information was easy to understand and helped me make improvements to my diet. I was aware of some of the information since I have been interested in nutrition for awhile. I found the author's writing is very easy to understand. I especially liked where she explained what different certifications and labels mean if anything.

I am so glad I bought this book, and I'm giving one to everybody I care about. It's full of interesting and incredibly useful information, all in an easy-to-read style. Stefanie addresses complicated issues in an organized and intelligent way, all while remaining down-to-earth and relatable. She not only exposes fascinating truths about the food industry, but also presents practical solutions for shopping smarter and eating better. And I can't wait to try the recipes!

Very useful!
I will be sharing this with all of my friends and family! A lot of good information for those interested in food and health and would like to learn more about nutrition facts and how to read ingredients. In addition, definitely helped me stay away from processed foods.
