Maglite 4D
As it's a Maglite i was expecting a certain standard, and am not disappointed, brilliant torch might have to invest in an led conversion for it, but its perfectly bright enough for normal use.

Good handy torch

Really poor product.
As soon as I opened the packaging, the on/off button fell off. It's a rubber button which I managed to fit back in place but not a great endorsement of quality. The brightness of the beam is terrible and the range is far less than advertised. I thought the batteries I used may be at fault but I've replaced them with brand new Duracell ones - but still no better. I've got a feeling this item has been used even though it's advertised as brand new. Disappointing to say the least.

Does not work - or is FAKE?
This torch does not work as described, the light beam barely reaches 3 metres and it is certainly not bright. There is also a shadow spot in the middle. The button does not feel like a true maglite and there is no way to change the light settings. I purchased this torch at the end of June and received at the end of July, as it has been the summer I have not had any need to use until today. I have used this evening with 3 brand new batteries and could barely see in front of me with it. Unable to return or even contact the seller due to the time that has passed. It may be that the torch I have purchased is faulty, or fake. Would have given no stars, but Amazon does not give this option. Do not buy.

MULTI USE ICON.
One of the icons of the twentieth century, the 3 battery Maglite is THE torch to keep in the car. Powerful enough for the emergency in the dark and heavy enough to double as a deterrent if needed. No woman should drive alone without one. This was a present for my daughter and came with lessons how to use it if approached by a stranger when she was on her own !!!

Great tough light
Brilliant torches that is to be said, unfortunately I made the mistake of not realising it was the 'bulb' version which has little brightness compared to the LED version so my main recommendation is to purchase an LED model.The 2 Cell LED torch I own is actually brighter than my 3 cell!
