AmetekMotors 122167-00 Motor, 4.3" 1 Stage 120 Volt B/B Peripheral Bypass

I have a Hoover Garage Utility Vacuum (GUV) , Model L2310.. After a few years, the original motor began to produce an acrid burning odor, although the suction was still fine. This Ametek motor was a direct replacement. It used the original mounting frame and screws and the original rubber gaskets. The gaskets, top and bottom, were in very good shape, so I ordered only the replacement motor. Installation was a breeze. Just strip insulation from the two wires, and connect just like the original. It took roughly 15 minutes. There is no odor from the replacement motor. It does make a strange noise at shutoff, just as it comes to a halt. If this leads to any problems I will return to edit the review with a followup report.

My GUV is back in business. The old motor didn’t like the drywall dust, took out the bearings. Don’t forget to get the motor gasket as the old one is glued in and comes out in pieces.

Hard to get parts for the Hoover GUV. But luckily the motor had the Manufacturer and the part number. Sure enough this was an exact fit. This didn't come with the mounting bracket, or the rubber "cup" thingy that goes between the motor and bracket, but mine was fine (slipped right on). I also added a Ametek #566 Gasket to replace the one that got ripped up (stuck to the motor when removing it). Worked good as new. If the rest of the GUV is in good shape, this is a relatively inexpensive way to get up and running again.

Much noisier than the manufacture motor but it works.
