Sections get stuck together way too easy. Happened to me and when trying to unstick them I emailed support. They told me to stick it in the freezer ??? Two sections are stuck together ??? The cold will react to both sections. Just like it did. I finally got them unstuck by twisting a small section off the ends. Then the rod worked ok as the sections still fit together. Went fishing. When collapsing the rod a section broke right in half, a section I never touched. Called support. “Those types of issues are not covered under warranty.” Be careful of lifetime warranty claims. None here.

great rod fun stuff. This is my first Tenkara rod and I really like the simplicity to the entire thing. I wouldn't make this my go to rod but it'd be fun on pack trips, my original reason for picking it up. The only con would be the supplies it came with. I'd go for the non-package and outfit with better quality line. Since getting this I did fish a Tenkara Sawtooth and like this model much better for it's "noodle" type feel and shorter length. This would be a good beginner rod but the shorter length may make presenting the fly a little challenging if you've never fly fished, fished, or got off the couch before. I'd buy it again for the action and simplicity.

New to Tenkara style fishing but feel like this is a great outfit. I was looking for something that I could use on local creeks and streams - bluegill, smallmouth bass, trout. Was tired of lugging around a ton of gear and wanted something that would easily fit in a backpack. Takes a little getting used to the fact there is no reel or extra line. Seems like quality gear. Very happy.

I'm new to fly fishing, and have found this Tenkara rod to be a lot of fun and easy to use. I purchased a line winder that slides onto the rod base and it still fits fine within the hard case tube. I look forward to stream fishing for trout, but meanwhile, the set up is working great for panfish!
