The Lilies: Lilien - Les Liliacees

Big heavy thick book. For many of the entries there also is a detail pic. These are usually enlarged. On the blow up each line of the drawn volume and contour is clear, they look exactly like colored pencil lines.The overall coloring and treatment is different from another Taschen Redoute "The Raphael of Flowers" which is also enormous.

The paper is very nice. I wish the plates were larger.

Received sooner than suggested. Condition better than described.Would absolutely use again and highly recommend.

Having a copy of the fine Prentice Hall edition by the great Prof. William T. Stearn, I expect to also see a very dramatically colorful, coffee-table sized book by the equally great Professor/Doctor H.Walter Lack, of Berlin.

I’m a lover of Redoute and needed this to go with his volume of “Les Roses”. They are side by side on my coffee table in the front parlor. I also have many of his framed prints. This volume is a very good copy with no visible flaws.

The Master Pierre Joseph Redoute is amazing. I enjoy looking at this book.
