I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly Board book – June 11, 2003

I remember this book from when I did my student teaching in 1977. I had several copies of this in my classroom during my 30 years of teaching. I bought two copies to give friends with young children.

My 4-year old nephew loves this story, so I bought him this version for his 4th birthday. We have two other versions (a really creepy old one and a newer, confusing-to-read one). This one is great; He wanted me to read it immediately! The illustrations are fabulous, engaging, and creative. I am a teacher, so I really appreciate that the visuals promoted engaged reading and discussion of the text. I also love that this book mostly maintains the classic story (the ending is altered) while adding innovative illustrations that add so much to the story. This is my new favorite version. It is adorable!One last note...In the back, they have included some tips on how to make this a more educational experience for kids. It is a good place to start if you aim to engage your kids a bit more.

Fun. Though my toddler prefers The Lady with the Alligator Purse.Few kids books are so good to red out loud and provide continuing interest and pleasure. I love the dance instructions and the page of different ways to help your little one interact with the book.It does incite quite some passion, so expect to have it on nightly bedtime rotation and be ready to find ways to keep it fun!

We love this series of books and easy for my 7 year old to read!

This is one of my favorite, silly, pure fun childs book. I read it to my 3 yr old great grandaughter, of course you must add tummy tickling when she swallows a spider. We have such fun with it!

My dad used to sing me this song as a child. I wanted a book to pass along to my kids that had similar words - and this is almost exactly it, except with a nicer ending. All of my kids love it!

This is a modernized version of the book - not one that is pictured. It has similar but different artwork, and is updated to a larger format with brighter colours. I had been excited to get a book from my childhood and am very disappointed it isn't the same. I plan to return this (depending on the cost).This is the version I received: [...]

This book is so creepy why is it a childrens story ... also the book came to me with a slight warped ness to it i didn't really like that but i liked the story less ...
