The Very Best of the Pogues

great CD

I have heard of The Pogues for a very long time....I have a lot of good Irish music, both contemporary and classic....The Pogues are a great combination of both....and made me frustrated at myself for waiting so long to not only buy their music but to listen...One of my favorite CD's that I downloaded onto the Ipod/Iphone...I can listen to them over and over while I am at work...They have some great covers and original....I am sure most who made read this already know about The Pogues...If you don't, you are not sure...Do yourself a favor and start with this CD you'll be a fan for life....

Truly bought this CD for one song. Was surprised at how solid this CD was. I had never been a Pogues fan other than for the one song I was looking for. This CD turned me on to becoming a fan of this band.

After wisiting the «ps, I love you bridge», I bought this dvd and the movie was so fantastic! I can Watch it very often!!

They make sounds like you would hear in an Irish pub around 11 pm, when the party just gets rolling hot. Love their music and this is the best one to get. especially the New York track.

Good album. A few memorable tunes.

If you only want to get one Pogues CD, this is it. Remastered sound, and a great selection of tracks. If you ever need to hold a detective's funeral, that song is on here. ("The Wire" fans will know what I mean.)

I recently purchased the 30th anniversary Pouges live double album (highly recommended), and The very best of the Pouges had a few songs that were not on the album. Edgy Irish music with a folk/punk/alternative influence.
