Flyinghedwig Classic Prewired Loaded SSS Pickguard Alnico V Pickups for Fender ST Guitar

I disliked the fact that on the picture of the order page it clearly shows that the pickups are alnico v and when I received the pickups they were missing the name so I don't know if they are alnico v or some other brand I'm truly disappointed

I have a very cheap strat copy that I bought on Amazon as a testing project. It is my favorite guitar. I replace bits just to try different combinations.The next part I thought I would replace for a trial was the pickups. I searched for the cheapest Alnico V that I could find, and this was it. The best bit was this prewired pick guard and pickups was cheaper than a set of pickups on their own.So what is the catch. Well!! there wasn't one. They are Alnico V pickups, even though the ad at one point says ceramic, and the wiring and pickguard are as good as anything else I have seen at much higher prices.To make this review complete I must tell you that only one of the screw holes lined up, meaning I had to drill new pilots, and the wiring has the red wire as the ground and white wire as the hot, which is not intuitive to me.The one I took off had the red hot/black ground that is the usual protocol for the UK. The target customers for this must be from somewhere else.Also the pots are the mini 16mm pots that seem to be the new standard now, not the 25mm old style.In use they are much warmer and bassier than the previous ceramic pickups, and give that very strat type bite at volume.I like them a lot, and at such a low price, I don't know how they do it.Delivery was much quicker than that quoted, which was another pleasant surprise.
