Great also for an "off label" use: nest material holder!
Took a chance getting this, but glad I did. I'm not using it as a treat or millet holder, but as a way of giving the birds a stash of clean nesting material they can pull bits from to use. Right now I've stuffed it with "Heritage Farms Bird Nester" material, but I'll add other things now that I see they really like using it and the weather warms up.Also, I attached it so it's horizontal, like a perch, near where their current nest is - they like to move house and remodel periodically - so they can sit on it and pull bits out. It's so much better than leaving piles of nest making stuff on the bottom of the cage. I was finding that either gets blown around, pooped on, or drenched in bath water. Or it gets full of seed hulls. Either way, the birds didn't want to use it. Before that I tried putting some of the nesting fluff on the top of the cage, and pulling it through a bit hoping the birds would fly up and pull bits off from there, but that experiment failed completely. Only one was willing to give it a try, and he just pulled of a bit and let it drop to the floor. I guess he was hoping for something tasty not a beak-full of fluff! But this has worked so far. I did remove a few strands to make the openings in some places a bit larger, so the material was easier to get at and pull on. but I'm not sure that's really necessary. Just thought I'd share the idea in case someone else wanted to try it for their birds ( mine are finches)

Birds LOVE it!
Within a few minutes of putting this in the cage with millet inside my cockatiels were all over it! It won’t last long but it’s a good enrichment item to keep birds busy! 😃

fill it tightly with millet
***Update 8/15/17a company representative has personally reached out to me with concerned apology and asked for suggestions on improvement of design. I send some idea which will be communicated to the product team and the item will be redesigned to prevent little heads reaching too far inside. I am very impressed with that level of customer service. It's rare today and I want to really applaud them for their caring.when I first received it, I really liked the natural organic design of the item, having a very naturalistic look for my aviary of society and gouldian finches. However, one morning I could not find one of my finches and to my horror I discovered that she was completely stuck and tangled in that thing. I took a photo so others can decide if it's worth the risk, and then spent a very stressful 20 minutes with cuticle trimmers trying to free my bird without injuring her, while receiving numerous bites. If you choose to use this, be sure its very filled with millet, otherwise tiny finches will get their little heads stuck in it. I saw other reviewers birds died from similar accidents - I simply got lucky and found my bird in time.

All natural and safe treat holder for small birds
This product may be better suited for larger breaks than that of parakeets. If treats are close enough to the container from outside, my birds can reach, but it sits right in the center of the feeder, their beaks cannot reach it, so i need to change how that is sitting every now and then. It’s a nice all natural holder and my birds enjoy picking on them as well.

My cockatiels are big fans!
I have been buying these millet holders for many years now for my cockatiels. When it is time for their weekly millet treat, they are always very excited to see the holder with the delicious treat put into their cage. The holder works very well with millet, although one of my smarter boys sometimes manages to pull the millet out.My cockatiels also love to destroy and chew the holders to bits, but I am ok with that because they have so much fun doing it. Anyways, the holders are very cheap, so it's worth it for me to replace one every month or so.

Not safe for our cockatiel.
Worked okay for our parakeet but our cocatiel ripped off some of string and got his head stuck in it. We removed it from his cage immediately.

Small Birds Get Stuck Inside
I would not even give a one star for this product only did, is because you have to rate it before giving a review of it .It's not safe to use for small birds, like canaries, they get their head in top and go in too far and get stuck, they can't get back out and my bird die from the trap. I had more than one bird, and didn't see her right away and it was too late. I don't think I would of been able to save her , without hurting trying to get her out of it and being a delicate bird going threw the ordeal she probability would of die from it all. If anything use the clips or the long containers that have a clip in them it keeps the seeds and hulls inside it. not as messy.

Awesome Miller holder
This holder is great! I love how it is natural and can be destroyed like a toy but also serves a purpose in feeding treats. The price is low enough that you can just buy another one when it has been destroyed, like any other toy for a bird. I think it would be destroyed too fast by any bird bigger than a cockatiel. It attaches easily to the cage and the birds are able to get at the Millet or other treat with a little effort, which is nice. I will definitely be buying more of these.
