Seems like a good product bit it didn't work on my 5 dogs
It's sturdy and has great motion detection. Has a mixture of high pitched squealy sounds. Unfortunately it did not work on my 5 dogs. I don't know how or why it didn't. The first time I set it up and turned it on, the looked a tad nervous and checked out. After that they didn't pay it attention. I have 3 chiuhuahuas, a miniature Schneider and a pit mix.

Not effective at all
I purchased two and set them up on my back porch. Have changed the settings over and over and three raccoons which live on my property and apparently spend time on my roof donβt mind them at all. I set up my Blink cameras which show them going up and coming down from the roof . One has been in use for three weeks, the second for two weeks. No these were a waste of money. Am back to square one. I have tried the remote as soon as the Blink cameras show movement, they ignore the sounds, tilt their heads and continue on their way

An Electrical Engineers overview evaluation of the unit.
The first unit sent was defective as the the remote did not work and the unit performed differently than the expected response, based on the literature. The replacement unit performed correctly. Out of curiosity, I measured the signal being delivered to the ultrasonic transducer and looked up the transducer that was being used.To start with, the transducer is a Chinese made unit costing about 60 cents or less with a stated frequency response to 20KHz with a 4 ohm impedance. The waveform driving the transducer is a pseudo triangular waveform with a p-p amplitude of about 8V at 15KHz and about 6V at 25KHz. Based on calculations and measurements made with a Fluke 87 multi-meter, the RMS value is about 2.2V RMS which computes to about 1 watt of power being supplied to the transducer. Since I was unsuccessful in finding a chart of dB output as a function of input power, I was unable to establish what this was in terms of sound pressure.During the measurements I found, at least on the unit I received, that the frequency adjustment knob had no effect on the output frequency when the units slide switch was in the "CONTINUOUS" position and the emitted frequency was constant at approximately 17.5KHz (as measured using a digital oscilloscope). In the "SWEEP" position the frequency did change from a low of 14.5KHz to approximately 25KHz consistent with the specification. However, the frequency is not SWEPT but rather HOPPED between frequencies staying on a specific frequency for a few seconds before advancing to a new frequency. The bottom line is that the unit does produce ultrasonic frequencies but, based on the unit I received and evaluated, did not meet the stated functionality portrayed in the manual. Rather than return a second unit and risk getting flagged with too many returns, I chose to engage the unit using the SWEEP mode and see what effect it has on rabbit and squirrel reduction.I contacted the seller about the issue and it seems the manual has an omission. In order to change the frequency in the CONTINUOUS mode it is necessary to place the unit in standby, adjust the frequency and then place it back into the active mode. One would not likely assume this was the protocol but apparently that is how the units software is written.BTW, the sellers customer service is outstanding and they went to great lengths to clarify the situation. Most unusual now days.

Sadly useless for us
We had hopes that this thing would work, but sadly it did not for us. I can't say as to whether or not the unit is defective or simply doesn't work because humans can't really hear the ultrasonic sounds. I can say that it 'appears' to be working in every other way (sonic sound, strobe, remote, etc.)We tried to use this to deter our cat from a certain area. I placed the unit about three feet from the cat and set the frequency as specified for cats. Turned on and the cat just lay there purring. I tried every possible setting with the same result, so I'm not even sure it was producing any ultrasonic sound. If I turned the sonic volume up, then sound could be heard which only slightly got the cat's attention for a few seconds, then it laid back down in front of the thing.I realize humans can't really 'hear' ultrasonic frequencies, but I know that in the past I've been able to faintly hear very high-pitched sounds slightly. I could hear nothing from this thing.Even if it had worked, I likely still would have returned it due to several design issues that would have made it impractical for our needs.First, the bright red light on the front turns on whenever the unit is operating, so no chance of making this thing inconspicuous; I had also thought to use something like this in front of our house to keep dogs out of our yard, but the bright red light makes it too obvious and just makes no sense. The 'strobe' light, which is nothing more than a few not very bright LEDs cannot be disabled. As above, another reason this wouldn't have worked for us.'Continuous' mode isn't really continuous. It operates for a while, then turns off, then back on after around 40 seconds. So basically if a stray dog comes by and it's not on at that time it's useless (even if it would have worked.) Motion mode would be best for that, but I was hoping to hide this behind a bush and use continuous mode.Mounting options are somewhat limited. There are pictures showing this mounted on a pole; this is not possible. The only option is to mount to a flat surface using the included screws. This also wouldn't work for us, as I wanted to drive a pole into the ground and mount it to that.In the end, I can't say if this is effective or not or whether the unit we received worked properly or not. It didn't work for us and I wouldn't buy it again due to the design. I've since seen other models that are better designed and would likely work well for our situation. I may try one of them at some point.
