AWESOME FAN!! Worth the money over others hands down!!
I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews, I always read the negative ones first and then the positve ones there after. I received my fan and was very happy with the look and feel of the construction. Nice paint, strong steel construction, not crazy for the pull chain switch but am ok with it. I planned on using this fan to circulat the hot air generated by my wood stove into the other rooms as well as the room the woodstove is in. WOW!!! It's quiet it sits on the wall, one screw it in, and it operates perfectly!! No hum, no buzz, no ratteling, just smooth air flow. I did install 4 rubber pads between the wall and mounting bracket to absorbe any noise, worked perfectly!! This fan generates more CFM than the ordinary table top or pedistal fans and it's quietier!! I'm impressed. I would highly reccomend this fan to anyone! What I like best is that it's on the wall, out of the way, not on a table, not on the floor to trip on, it's 12 inch size fits the application well and it silent (except for the wind generated by the fan blades), I was getting temps in my woodstove room of 90 degrees plus and was able to circulate and move that hot air into the other rooms more effectively and quietly with this fan. I will be purchasing the larger one for other application in my shop.

Fantastic & Surprisingly Quiet
I bought this for my son’s room because he has a loft bed that’s too high for a ceiling fan, but this unit is absolutely perfect. It’s quiet enough that he uses it while he sleeps (no rattling or other noise) and it has great power. It was so easy to hang that I was able to do it by myself. #SingleMomLife … Now my son loves making fun of the “average fan” in his sisters room, because it’s not a High Velocity Air Circulator! We don’t use the word fan in his room… “Mom, could you turn on my high velocity air circulator? Please.” Haha! This is quality product!! Love it!

Updated Review: 3 years of Use. Good, compact commercial grade fan.
UPDATE June 30, 2015: Purchased this on July 9, 2012. And 4 more shortly there after. The fans are still working great after 3 years of consistent use. In the summer time, they are on consistently from 9:30am to 6:00pm, 6 days a week. One seems to have slowed down on the lowest setting, but it has three settings so it is no problem. Air condition technician told me to strategically place the fans where the cold air will escape the most (e.g., by the door) and it has worked great in keeping the cool air in. The fan is very loud on the highest setting, but it is also very strong. Also research how much energy it takes to run a fan all day. Go this website: http://energyusecalculator.com/electricity_ceilingfan.htm . It is not much, like less then 20 cents a day or something like that depending on what setting you use it. The wattage of this fan runs 85, 76 and 64 watts depending on the setting;I have a 4,000 + square foot retail store. The building is old and with customers continuing to open and close the doors, the cold air escapes pretty easily so it is difficult to cool down the store. I bought one unit to try out. The fan feels solidly built and it comes with instructions on how to install. It has a handle to where you can hang it or bolt into certain things and it also comes with a cable wire. I just hung it from three slatwall hooks on a slatwall. The unit is solidly built to where it feels heavy, but not too heavy. It has three speed modes which is controlled by the pull of a chain. I put it right by the main duct way where the cold air blows out and instantly the area around there became colder faster. I ordered three more units and placed one by the door and the others strategically placed. The store is now significantly colder, faster. There is not that much more significant noise in my opinion and I hardly know it is on. Good fan over for commercial areas, workout areas, garages, and such.

Don't be scared, it's great for white noise in a bedroom!
I mounted this high on the wall in my 2-year-old's room for white noise / air flow, and couldn't be happier. I know a lot of reviewers were talking about it being really loud or using it for horse-stalls or whatever, so I was pretty nervous buying it just for a kid's room... but chose to try anyway because I had 3 floor-stand fans break in the 2 years he's been alive, either from being tipped over by the kid (yikes!) or just breaking cuz they're garbage... and we don't have any place to put a fan that I don't worry what my son will do with it, other than high up on the wall. (I also installed an electrical outlet high on the wall to keep the kid from playing with the cord. The one place I think he should be able to play practically unsupervised is his own room. BUT, the cord was certainly long enough if you don't want to go to that effort.)Skipping to the end... It sure seems high quality and extremely heavy duty, but is definitely NOT too noisy or too strong for those of you who use a fan for sleeping. Our schedules are strange and we often need the kid to sleep when it's noisy, and it's perfect for that, even if we do tend to keep it on medium or low setting. I'll be getting another for our bedroom as soon as the cheapo box fan sitting on our dresser dies.Be warned, it doesn't come with the lag bolt you'll want for mounting it. Sorry I don't remember what size it was... but you will want to plan on putting a hefty lag bolt into a stud, since it is a nice solid unit, but one lag bolt is plenty. I have zero concerns about its stability where it is.

Solid fan, but installation could be better
First, the fan is great. It's not big, but it is a powerhouse. It's not quiet, so if you're looking for something quiet, you best look elsewhere. It has three speeds, and even on the lowest setting, it moves a lot of air.The only problem I have with it is there is no mounting lag screw or carriage bolt and the corresponding washers you need in the package. You have to go out to get the extra hardware when it would be really convenient to send along a couple of options.Otherwise, it's a great fan and I highly recommend it.

AMAZING
For only being 12" in diameter, it moves a very good amount of air. It removes the humidity from a single car garage in no time flat. Very well made quality product.

Fans are perfect for horse stalls!
I love these fans for my horse’s stalls. They’re quiet but powerful enough to provide serious heat relief in the summer, and easy to clean so the continue to look nice in the barn. They have multiple speeds using the chain, but we have them wired directly (it comes with a plug), so that I can turn them on and off from a switch.

Sturdy Fan
This fan is very good quality, nice and sturdy. Pushes a good amount of air. Perfect for what we needed it for.

FANTASTIC 12-Inch FAN!!
4/5 stars as there is NO WAY that this guy is 5.44lbs as listed in the technical specs listing. (UPDATE: ACTUAL WEIGHT IS 14.0lbs) Air King does not provide any mounting brackets through this listing (except for the standard attached swivel bracket) or any lag bolts/screws for proper installation. You need to obtain that yourself and there is only one medium sized hole on the back of the swivel bracket. This fan sure does move air around and isn't too loud. I have it mounted high above my computer desk about 8-9 feet away from me and it feels fantastic on just low. Medium or high would blow me away!!! :D
