THIS is the college calculator you're looking for; it seems to be the standard most schools use...
THIS is the machine you've been looking for. College math? Want a good, solid, easy to use calculator? Debating whether to get this one or the TI-30X IIs your college professor said you could get by with? Want something you will turn to over and over? Something that your college algebra book probably uses?Sure, it's not in the sub-$20 range. But (and talk to your advisor) if you don't need RPN (required by some schools, BTW) or the bells and whistles of this one's big brother (the 89) you will be really happy with this machine. The color graphing AND ability to import programs and images really make this unit stand out, stand up, and scream. BTW - it comes with an installed battery pack and a recharger - YES, the charger is included - and the cords to go from usb to the calc (also used for charging), or a shorty from calc to calc. The REALLY cool thing, tho... if your school's math or science department uses it, it will drop into the multiple charging dock they have. Just make sure you get a "custom" replacement slide on cover (it comes with one that matches the calc, but you can do better!) or faceplate (both available here) AND mark it... because you will find everyone uses these machines. The price - well, this gives up how old I am, but I remember when something close to this was in the mid-4 digit range price-wise (that's 4 digits NOT counting cents!!) and didn't do as much. at a hundred bucks and change, It's not cheap - but my oh my, is it worth the money? Until you have one, you may balk... but after you get one, you will smile and say... yep. It's worth it.You won't be sorry.

I'm sorry I purchased a graphing calculator from Electronics & Operational Innovations via Amazon
I purchased this calculator (unfortunately) from Electronics & Operational Innovations. I will never purchase anything from them again. I ordered a $130 graphing calculator with a purple color around most of the unit and its cover. I received a calculator that is dark pink or fuschia (not true purple at all). They did not send me a calculator with the correct color. If I were a girl, I would have kept it, but I'm a guy and the color simply does not work for me. It's not the color I ordered. I paid over $12 to return it to Electronics & Operational Innovations for a refund but they simply returned the same calculator back to me, saying that they would not take the calculator back because I had opened the package. I opened the package when the calculator arrived to get a better look at the color. I do not recommend Electronics & Operational Innovations, and I will never waste my money again ordering anything from them. Electronics & Operational Innovations does not know the first thing about customer service or customer relations. I am a teacher and will share this experience with all of my students every school year. I will also share this experience with every math teacher I know.

Great calculator.
I love the colored graphs on this calculator. I teach high school math, and of all my calculators, this is the most readable. My students love to borrow it in class, and several of them have gotten one of their own. I actually learned about the TI color edition from a student. Now, if I could only get it to project on the overhead...(no smartboard or computer projector in my classroom.)I also like the rechargeable battery. No more changing out batteries.

Great but.....
Calc is awesome, currently taking college math and its super handy. It's pretty fast for everything EXCEPT when graphing a line. Its such a bummer bc you don't have much time as it is in class, so sitting and waiting for the graph is very time consuming. But besides that its great. Had the old TI-84, so happy I made the upgrade.

TI Silver with color screen-- heres the postitives and negatives that I found:
OK, I have only had it a couple of months, here are my comments.I didn't realize that it had no batteries, you must charge it to work. I like that it is a lighter calculator, and it keeps a charge well. I wonder if it would last 3 hours with a regents..... especially after it ages a year or so...Batteries are not an option with this calculator, so if during a test it loses it's charge-- you are out of luck-I also had to load on all the apps: The directions were wrong. The directions had older versions of windows. (xp and vista), none were for windows 7 or 8 so if you have a new computer the directions don't work at all. It took me a few hours to get the apps loaded on. I had to look up online and it was very confusing until I found directions from anther teacher on what to do... which perfectly set it up.It did not come with the dummies book inside as stated (which I already have and like). I was hoping to get a second one to keep in my classroom.I love the PINK color, but it is just the top and inset, the back is white, and can get dirty.I like the screen with the colors and it works well with shading. The new screen makes it easy to distinguish different elements. With the screen the numbers appear smaller so it is difficult to read the numbers, compared to the older version.I really like the calculator but it was very difficult to set up, and did not come with all the advertised items, so I can't give it a higher rating. I use this daily, and my other calculator was the TI84+c without the screen. I like that the calculators work the same way (unlike the older black ones which certain transactions (ie. inequalities) are done differently). As a heavy user of this calculator, I like it. I would give the calculator alone a 4.8 our of 5. It was the setup and the other issues that impacted the rating. I can't give it a 5 because I would need to see how the charge holds over time.
