very well writtenalthough only read the beginningbut as the author was a shia in doctrineand I am a sunni so send it back as not confuse myself

Once again Chittick renders a difficult Arabic text into readable and fluent English. The introduction contextualises the text and shows how important Mulla Sadra's debt was to the medieval Persian Sufi tradition (in this case a key work of Baba Afzal of which the Elixir is a reworked Arabic paraphrase/adaptation).
