🌊 Dive into Greenery with Duckweed!
1/4 Cup Live Duckweed (LEMNA Minor) is a hardy, free-floating aquatic plant that thrives in low to moderate lighting conditions, making it an ideal addition to your aquarium. Koi fish love it, and it helps create a balanced ecosystem while providing shade and beauty.

Very good, but be warned, my fellow aquarists.
Much better than I expected. Healthy and green, there were some brown leaves but what do you expect when it spends days in a dark bag? I quarantined it in an old 1/2 gallon that I use as a fish hospital to make sure there were no snails, and there are no pests to be seen. Smaller than I expected, didn't realize that the few leaves of duckweed I had were Major, not Minor. They're like red pepper flake sized. Anyway, very pretty and vibrant green, doing very well, my fish love it. 10/10 Would buy again, but feel like I never will have to since I have way more than I needed for my tank and it spreads anyway.UPDATE: Keeping the 5 star rating because everything I said before was true, and it is what it's advertised as, but be warned that it will get caught in your filter, get all over your arms, floor, feet, tables, and life whenever you adjust ornaments or clean the tank. If your filter makes any sort of current, the duckweed will get pushed down into the water here or there, and while it totally floats and will eventually pop back up it more often than not gets stuck on my decorations and moss. With my Whisper 3-5 filter it was fine, but now that I've upgraded my tank and bought the 2-10 it's a semi-constant duckweed storm.

Healthy, no odor, arrived early
I purchased this item with the intention of growing it in a kiddie pool to feed as supplement fodder for chickens. So far, I am pleased with what I received.I placed my order on 2/21, and it arrived via USPS First Class mail on 2/26. This was a full 5 days earlier than Amazon's estimate. The product was shipped in a manila envelope, in a common plastic baggie. The quantity I received was not what I expected. Instead of 1/4 cup of water with some duckweed in it, I received *at least* 1/2 cup of duckweed plants, and sufficient water to keep them moist and relatively healthy until delivery.Approximately 20% of the plants were yellow or brown (dead) on arrival. The remaining 80% was vibrantly green. This is Lemna minor; expect plants the size of a freckle. They are not large.Aquarium owners please note: I did notice some hitchhiking aquatic fauna included in my shipment. They appear to be larvae of some sort; approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch long, translucent bodies with a reddish vein or digestive tract, squirming vigorously in the water below the roots of the duckweed. They may be harmless to your tank. They appear to be similar to the Chaetogaster genus of aquatic worms. I am not an aquatic biologist and I have no idea what they are. There were less than a dozen in my order. The shipment I received did not contain any snails or other foreign material.Unlike some other reviewers, my order had no odor even after waiting for me 4 hours in a hot mailbox. It smelled like nothing.I am quite pleased. I will update this review if the duckweed does anything unexpected, or dies.

No.
It arrived 5 days after it was shipped. I don't know from where it was shipped, but I live in Dallas, Texas, where it's been in the 60s/70s for the last few weeks. Most of it, if not all of it, is dead. I can't spot a healthy plant in this crop. It's all translucent/gray/brown. Most of the plants don't even have roots on them. When I first got it, the instructions said that a raw sewage smell is normal. Well, it smelled AWFUL when I opened it. It stunk up the whole house. It might have gone better had I gone for 2 day shipping, but $45 is a bit steep for a $12 item. If you're going for best chances of survival, you're probably going to have to eat that $45.

it was great. All the plants were alive and healthy
I've ordered this twice. The first time I ordered it, it was great. All the plants were alive and healthy. My latest order arrived today and was not good. It was mostly brown, with some black, and had a green worm in it. There was cooler weather when I ordered it the first time so that might be the problem.

100% happy
Everything from my purchase to the application of this product was satisfactory. As others said it was fairly foul smelling however I would not consider that a draw back. It is a living plant that was shipped through the mail. It's duckweed. I wasn't expecting roses. HahaRegardless, I ordered it on the 8th, received it on the 12th, gave it a rinse, inspected it, and then plopped it in my aquarium! I think it has made a truly wonderful addition. There were hardly any brown/dead spots. Literally unnoticeable with out THOROUGH inspection. It has remained a lovely vivid color, and is doing well so far. It has only been two days but I will be sure to update if anything should change. My one issue, something that was my mistake and I feel does not effect my rating at all, was how small the duckweed was. I knew it would be small [leaf size] but having never actually seen duckweed up close I underestimated how small it would be. That being said I intend to purchase some greater duckweed [referred to as Lemna Major on amazon I believe] as it is slightly bigger and see how I like that in my tank as well!
