The Tilt Shift Adapter Ring allows photographers to use M42 screw mount lenses on Sony Alpha E-mount cameras, featuring up to 10° of tilt and 360° rotation for creative photography. It supports manual diaphragm control and ensures focus at infinity, making it a must-have for lens enthusiasts.

Misleading listing - Poor Construction
First, this is not a tilt shift adapter, it is just a tilt adapter (At the time of this review, the listing title calls this a 'tilt shift adapter ring). This was pretty obvious prior to my purchase so I don't really hold it against the product, but still, you should be aware that this only does tilt movements. The build quality of this is extremely poor. When received, the tilt adjustment action felt like there were metal shavings caught up in the mechanism. Sure enough after a complete teardown, there were metal shavings in the adapter and the mechanism had absolutely no lubrication. After removing the shavings, deburring some rough spots, and adding a bit of lithium grease the action was improved considerably. One plus towards build is that the m42 screw mount is user adjustable so you can orient the threading however you want. This isn't too important since the whole lens mount rotates, but is still appreciated.Adding to the poor build, the numbers on the tilt adjustment ring are backwards. When at 0° tilt, the ring indicates '8' and when at maximum tilt, the ring indicates '1' (Note that there isn't a demarcation for '0' making me wonder what the ring is even there for)Given that similar adapters are considerably more expensive, I would have given this item a higher rating had the metal shavings not been present. If you use this adapter without servicing it first, you run the very real risk of damaging your camera's internals.DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU PLAN TO USE IT AS IS!

Does tilt. Doesn't shift. Flimsy construction.
It's hard to beat the price given it does tilt. Construction is flimsy and it's very hard to fully lock in place on the camera or to get off (you have to put the lens on AFTER this adapter is attached to the camera.) It doesn't shift, so it's not really a tilt shift adapter. I considered giving 1 star because the name is misleading, but again, it's hard to argue with the price. I'm concerned it won't last very long, but for now I'm enjoying it. Of note it does seem to give internal reflections (left side of the attached photo) when at full tilt regardless of the lens.
