Miles Kimball Blue Carnival Depression Style Glass Hen Candy Dish

My Mother has been looking for this dish for many years ...she first had one, that my grandmother had. My grandma has always keep butter in this dish.... not candy (remember this, it is very important). The year was 1993. I was young and had yet to developed my skills to hold on to thing that was precious...so inevitably the dish fell out of my hands and hit the floor. Braking the favorite butter dishMy mother and grandmother searched high and low looking in all the antique and thrift shop near us.We live in Alaska so there was not many places that they can choose from. For many year they have searched for this famous butter dish. 25 years later my grandma and mom are trying different dishes for butter and still complaining about the butter dish that was broken but yet it was perfect.My mom birthday is coming up and yet another butter dish is tossed out or donated because it just didn't feel right. So she said that she wants a new butter dish for her birthday. She then tells me how much she misses the chicken butter dish.SO amazon please do not fail me now...I have always known that this dish was a butter dish. So when I searched amazon, I typed in chicken butter dish....No such luck. I start searching the internet for the famous chicken butter dish no such luck....I have given up hope to find this elusive chicken butter dish. It was getting late and time was running out and still no hope...I have told my mom that her birthday present was in the mail and was going to be LATE...whew that bought me an extra days to keep looking. Finally I was in amazon looking for a different butter dish and not liking what my options are. The reason why my mom really liked this CHICKEN BUTTER DISH 1) It was really easy to grasp on to. 2) It was perfect fit for butter.. (you could fit two bars of butter if you melted the butter 3) it was pretty to look at. Late one night on amazon I searched again for Chicken butter dish...but because I was tired I did not add in butter and ended up searching for Chicken Dish...Behold the elusive chicken butter dish... AKA CHICKEN CANDY DISH.. I quickly ordered the dish and it was delivered just in time for her birthday..the ups guy showed up two hours before my mom came home.WINNING!!!!!!.....Just when you think it is a happy ending......I guess I have yet to develop my coordination for holding on to things because two days later I have broken the dish.... this time I do not have to do all the searching....I have purchased the same dish again....thinking about buying more...and loving the different color options.

My product arrived directly from Miles Kimball, packaged well and in perfect condition. This carnival glass chicken dish is very beautiful and was greatly appreciated by the gift recipient. It has been used for candy and snacks. Hand washed only but still looks brand new! There is an added level of beauty when the sunshine hits it.

I sent this to my mom she had lost her's years ago and amazon had it they shipped it right and it got there before x-mas my mom loved it . I need to get one for my self
