Product description The Carevix Menstrual Cup is a reusable menstrual cup around two inches long and made from 100% eco-friendly soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally like a tampon but collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing. A light seal is formed with your vaginal walls allowing your menstrual fluid to pass into the Carevix Menstrual Cup without leakage or odour. The Carevix Menstrual Cup contains no bleaches, deodorisers or absorbency gels. It does not interfere with your healthy vaginal environment, nor has it been associated with toxic shock syndrome. The smooth surface of the Carevix Menstrual Cup allows the mucus membranes of your vaginal wall to continue their essential cleansing and protective functions. The Carevix Menstrual Cup does not absorb your body's natural defence mechanisms and will not deposit fibres in your vaginal wall. Directions: Start by thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water to remove any dust particles as well as pre-washing the Carevix Menstrual Cup with hot water then follow these 4 steps: 1. Fold the flattened cup in half2. Guide the cup into your vaginal opening3. Continue to insert until the cup and pull tab are completely inside 4. Pain beyond belief!
I've never tried a menstrual cup but after reading other reviews, decided to try this as a more natural and eco friendly thing.The cup rim was pretty thick and harder than I thought it would be when I tried to squeeze it. I attributed it to being strong and then "tried it on", which was another battle!After that, I was aware that I had it on. It wasn't comfortable for me where I could almost forget that it was there.After a couple of hours, I decided I didn't like it so I tried to remove it.This was really painful! VERY PAINFUL!The suction as I was trying to remove it felt like my insides were being dragged out with each gentle pull.I tried to squeeze the cup to "break the seal" like it said but it's pretty tough material, with it being so thick, and once it's in, you haven't really got much room for manoeuvre!I removed it bit by bit while the cup was squeezed and every moment of it was painful until it came out fully. I think giving birth to a hedgehog would have been easier..!I don't know if I have the wrong insides or if this cup isn't user-friendly enough but I genuinely wouldn't get it again and have been put off trying any other.

Avoid and spend more on higher quality alternatives
The packaging and colour was nice- that's it.The cup is cheap and hard to fit- it's so soft so it doesn't pop back into in proper shape and stays folded once inside which is uncomfortable and renders the product redundant.

Poor quality
Awful product. Poor quality. Uncomfortable and does not open when in place. In this case it’s worth spending more on a reliable produce

Not the best
Not comfortable thinking of trying the lily cup instead

An alternative to disposable products
Very well made and easy instructions. Only complaint information advised large cup due to having children however it was too big and very uncomfortable. However will at a later date purchase smaller size as feel they are better solution to disposable products.

Be careful
This was awful. I tried it and whilst trying to get it out I couldn't do it it was auctioned hard. After trying for 2 days I went to the docs it took her and another doc 45 mins to remove. It had auctioned itself to my cervix and it wasnt budging. Once finally out it left me with severe cramps in my stomach. I would never try these again.
