Because you will not find any linen, "ivy" style cap as nice, or as accurately sized-fitted as this, from any online vendor operating in the US.First, linen is far more difficult and costly to make than cotton-based fabrics. The fiber it's made from is flax, and one of the few remaining regions in the world that still has a flax farming/manufacturing base large enough to manufacture large quantities of quality linen is ... guess where ... Poland and its surrounding areas/countries.Second, I literally spent DAYS looking at the offerings of vendors all over the US trying to find a hat like this. I ordered several, and had to return them all, mainly due to sizing issues. I've got a big head, and I can never seem to find any caps that I like that quite fit me. Even this vendor's largest size (XXL -- 62 cm) is right at the limit of the minimum for my head, which measures 61.5 cm. One of the hats that I returned was SUPPOSEDLY an "XXL," fitting up to 62 cm, but when I received it and measured the circumference of the band, it was actually just a little over 60 cm. That cap wasn't constructed anywhere as nicely as this one, either.I paid extra for expedited shipping on this one, and received it within one week of my order. As I opened the box, I was just praying that it would fit, because this was my last chance to get the kind of cap I wanted to wear to an outdoor wedding ceremony in the coming week, and my time to find one was up. When I pulled it out of the box and put it on my head, I practically wanted to cry ... it fit me PERFECTLY. The quality/consistency of the linen is great, and craftsmanship/construction of the cap is very nice throughout.In sum, I can't recommend this vendor/product highly enough. Carefully measure your head; follow their instructions on sizing (e.g., if your head measurement falls between two sizes, order the slightly larger one), and you will be very happy.

Unattractive and poor fitting hat. Looks nothing like posted pictures. The Seller ignored my original request to return it. On the second return attempt, the Seller rejected my request b/c “return period expired”.

Living in a tropical climate, I wanted a breathable hat, primarily to keep the sun away from the ever-thinning top of my head (skin cancer is no laughing matter). This cap does the job admirably well. If you hold the cap up to a light, you can easily see how open the weave is on the linen fabric (along with the mesh full lining.) The cap also fits the bill (lol) by not being an ever so common baseball cap. It may be just a personal bias; I have no problem with baseball caps when in jeans and a t-shirt. In slacks and a dress shirt baseball caps just don't work for me. This cap lets me keep the sun off the top of my head while still adding a dash of style. If you're looking for a step up from the lowest common denominator, I recommend this cap.

Took my hat to the beach today. Walk up and down the beach all afternoon. Hat stayed on my head no problem, perfect fit, that hat is so light i was a little concerned it might take flight, did not budge, stay on my head never moved. Very light weight and soft comfortable material, forgot I had it on most of the time. It was a cool day, about 70F (21C), so cannot comment on it keeping cool on hot day... feels like it should stay cool even on a very hot day, my head did not get sweaty at all. I highly recommend this hat. Very well made, excellent fit. This my second hat from the company, both hats fit perfect. If you know how to measure your head for a hat, they are a perfect fit!!!! I think worth every penny, excellent value!!!!

This is a quality, QUALITY cap. I wasn't expecting much but this cap is very well constructed.Only 4 stars because the sizing if off. I measured my head with two different measuring tapes (61cm) and the cap that I received was clearly labeled "61"--nevertheless it is slightly too large and rests on top of my ears. It's not so big as to warrant the hassle of a return but consider ordering 1cm smaller that you think you need.

This Sterkowski Ivy/Flat cap is a good value considering the quality of materials and workmanship and the accuracy of fit. It was also delivered to New York City in twenty fewer days than expected. I am now ooking for an excuse to purchase more from their selection.

As someone who needs large sizes to fit and look right I was extremely pleased. Fits better than any other hat I've had. Comfortable for long periods of time. Very well sewn and constructed. Will be on my list for additions or replacements. Added some team logos to get away from the all too common baseball caps - - much more comfortable and stylish. Now, if I can just find a winter weight as well done. . . .

This looks like a quality hat. However, the style is different from other hats of the same shape. It is more "puffy" at the sides. For my age and region, I do not find it a good style. It fits a bit loose, but perhaps I did not do my measurements correctly.

Quite good overall quality. To be compared with usual sizing I've found out this one is slightly looser. Anyway, the cap fits well.

Very happy with this hat. After trying too many to count, I finally have a light summer flat cap that's made with quality care and craftsmanship. Handmade in Poland and the customer service is unbeatable as well. They were willing to bend over backwards to fully refund if I for whatever reason, wasn't happy with the hat. I'll be buying a few more different styles from them in the future

Sieht top aus und ist wie erwartet, selbst mit kleinem Netzhimmel also meine klare Kauf-Empfehlung.Die Nähte sind ebenfalls sauber verarbeitet, lediglich das Material ist sehr dünn, also ein Sommer Assessor.

Superior quality of workmanship. The breathable lining and inconspicuous vent on the back are a nice surprise. Very impressed with the quick turnaround on the order (7 business days). Qualität und Design gefielen mir sehr gut. Für eine relativ günstige Mütze bewerte ich somi das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis als ausgezeichnet. Leider mußte ich die Mütze dann doch zurücksenden, da der Stil einfach nicht zu mir passte.

Die Mütze wird in Polen? hergestellt und direkt von dort zugesandt. Die Qualität sehr gut. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Habe die Schirmmütze für meinen Vater gekauft. Top Material- und Verarbeitungsqualität., durchdachte Details, sehr gute Paßform und sieht auch Klasse aus.

The hat was of great quality and arrived two weeks earlier than expect even after I was notified of a delay. Will definitely be purchasing more hats from them.
