Great, in theory
The light is definitely cool to the touch. I could tell there was extra protection for breakage...yet, my 3 year olds managed to break it after only one day :(

Cool to the touch
If you are concerned about a hot bulb this is a great replacement. It stays cool to the touch and puts out good light but the surface it grippy plastic feel
