Favorite hair dye
Love splat hair dye. Came on time and was what I expected. Been dying my hair this color for years, my favorite. Can stain so be careful when dyeing your hair.

Ordered for kids bball games
I ordered these for our kids to show their school pride colors during home basketball games and it was a hit. The color arrived all intact, too, which was a big plus for me with this company (I'd once ordered the same from another company and it arrived busted). Will definitely order from here again.

Trashy product.
Long lasting my buttocks! The only thing that's long lasting are the stains on your counter and scalp. I bought this in a Walmart and had to come here to review it. When I first used it, the results were ok, even good on blonde hair. However, the color faded SO BAD after one wash, turning a pinkish purple color, not red at all. The tips didn't look dyed at all (photo) When I accidentally dripped a drop on my sink and shower and immieditly cleaned it up, it stained really badly, even after scrubbing later. I've NEVER had an allergic reaction to hair dye, but whatever chemicals this has are HORRIBLE. And to top it all off they sell it for $15! What a scam.

Love It!
I have used almost every brand of hair dye out their and splat has several things about it that I like. One thing I feel like I should warn about is that this dye turns out a Ronald McDonald red and fades to pink when on bleached hair. The lady on the front of the box either didn't bleach her hair or didn't leave the bleach on for very long. If you have bleached your hair to very light blonde or white this will be a light red, that will fade first to dark pink then to light pink. Personally i thought it was cool when my hair turned all pink even if I did have to change what i wore to only black, gray, and white to keep from looking like a clown. My favorite thing to do with this dye is to have all my hair bleached then add in some medium brown and dark brown low lights. then put the red on top of everything. When I did that it was awesome! My hair looked like a more vibrant red with the darker pieces offsetting the lighter ones and looked a little less clown like and more fashionably bright. What I like about the dye:-It doesn't use peroxide so it is much better for your hair than a box dye.-The colors they have are very vibrant and pretty on bleached hair (what's more important than the color being pretty?)-It last longer than most hair dyes that don't contain peroxide (although I have used products that last a little longer)-You can mix some of it in your shampoo and it will stay much longer and keep vibrant (I use about half shampoo/half dye and I don't have to wear gloves when I put it on as long as I wash my hands in the shower right after I put the shampoo on)-You can also mix it in a clear hair glaze. This works really well and can bring it back to vibrant even after it has faded. What I don't like about it:-It stains everything! You can't get it anywhere on your scalp or skin or your counters. Some of the lighter splat colors you don't have to worry about as much, but this red and especially the blue stains are glaringly obvious. It takes me at least an hour longer to dye my hair using splat than with normal dyes because I'm really careful not to come out with a stained head (trust me it stands out if you part your hair and their is a big spot of dye there. So don't skip using the Vaseline around your hair line and neck and still be carefully even if you do. Also when you wash it out of your hair I would advise spraying a bleach cleaner all in your tub so the dye wont stick it to. It's not too hard to clean off the tub even if you don't spray first, but it's better to just have it not stick at all.-The bleach included is very poor. It does work, but seems to damage hair more than other bleach. Also when I used it (my hair is naturally a medium brown) it turned out very yellow and not the normal blonde color I was expecting. Unless if you leave it on for a very long time then it is lighter blonde but also your hair is more damaged, and the more damaged your hair is the less the dye will stick to your hair. I never use the bleach included, I either give it away or throw it out. I think you should pick what volume of peroxide is in your developer according to your natural hair color, so this peroxide in a box is not going to work well for everyone's hair.In Conclusion:With those long complaints said, I still love this product because the dye is more of a stain and last longer than most demi permanent dyes. Also I like that you can mix it in your shampoo to keep it looking bright. That doesn't work with all dyes (manic panic doesn't help at all in your shampoo) and doesn't ever work for dyes with peroxide in them. It will be a problem that it lasts long if you want to change your color to something that clashes it (you can put a orange or pink on top of it, but not a green) but if you think you might not want it for very long then you should just try one of the splat boxes that washes out in a week.Little Tips:-If your hair is damaged too much from bleaching the dye will not stick right or it will turn out great only to wash out way too soon (I have been in both situations where it only dyed the area in my hair that was just bleached [my roots] and no where else and when it dyed it all but didn't last long)-Make sure your hair has the right ph balance (you can by ph balancing shampoo and conditioner if needed) and that you have a good amount of protein and moisturizer in your hair. I recommend leaving conditioner on your hair for 15 or 20 minutes after you bleach it, and if it is not your first time bleaching your hair then i would suggest either doing a moisturizing treatment or leaving the conditioner on your hair all night long. Just make sure that if you do a protein treatment you don't over do it to the point where your hair is hard and brittle (been there: only a moisturizing treatment can save you now)-if you are worried about how much the bleach will damage your hair you can add in a clarifying shampoo to tone it down a bit. If you have black hair this is not recommended because the bleach will not be strong enough to make your hair blonde, but for medium brown, red, or dark blonde hair this should still lift your hair just fine.-pouring a half distilled white vinegar/half water on your hair and leave it on for a minute after the wait time is up and before you wash out the dye can help the dye last longer (I mix a cup of each together in a measuring cup and just pour it in my hair while i'm bent over the tub, and put some on my gloved hands to make sure it got on the front of my hair also. They i kinda massage it in for just a minute then start the rinsing with luke warm water but ending with cold)-wash your hair separately from when you take a shower using cold water (unless if you don't mind taking a cold shower)-if you are trying to remove the dye mix a very small amount of bleach together (1/4 a teaspoon of bleach and peroxide) and mix it with a clarifying shampoo. Shampoo your hair like normal only leave in the shampoo for a couple of minutes before rinsing it out. This will take the dye right out from your hair! If it doesn't take it out as much as you need it to you can repeat the process. You can also add more of the bleach to your shampoo but if it is too strong it will actually bleach your hair again instead of just lifting some of the hair dye.

Luscious Raspberries!
Ok so here's my advice when using this product:in order to achieve the color on the box it is best NOT to use the bleach kit included. If you want neon magenta hair then I recommend bleaching hair to at least a level 7. A good rule of thumb here, never use the bleach kit provided, purchase a more professional bleaching system from Amazon or Sally's. I use Ion's bleaching system. Let the dye process for about 2 hours under a shower cap or my preference a hydra-cap (heat sealed plastic cap). When you rinse the dye you'll want to have a few things on hand quickly. 1-2 burgundy towels (use these to dry your hair every time you wash). Dye hair in an old shirt that will be easy to remove when ready to rinse hair. Tips for rinsing hair, get as close to the drain as possible. You want the colored water to come into as little contact with ANYTHING as possible. I generally use my removable shower head while lying face up in the bath tub with my head over the drain. I do this when I wash my hair every time to protect my bath tube and fixtures. I don't recommend just stepping into a shower to rinse hair, you will dye your body, tub, walls, and shower curtain pink. Don't expect your hair to rinse clear, ever. After hair is rinsed wring out well and wrap into a towel as quickly as possible. Now time to rinse the tub out really well. If you don't wrap your hair in a towel, this task is almost impossible. Be thorough in your inspection. It will become permanent if you wait. Remove stains on your face, neck, and hands with fingernail polish remover. Even after you blow dry your hair, it may still stain shirts and pillowcases. The color is brilliant if you wash once a week with cool water. It will last about 30 days. But about every 2 weeks I can start to see my roots growing out. I love this product! It can be mixed with Ion's color brilliance dye in order to losen the Ion color brillance dye. In fact that is exactly what I use. 1/3 Splat Luscious Raspberries with 2 1/2 tubes of Ion color brillance magenta. It loosens the very thick Ion dye very well and the 2 colors combined make a darker neon pink-if you can imagine that.
