Used on MK4 Jetta GLI caliper carrier
Worked great.Vehicle: MK4 Jetta GLI with 312mm rotorsUsed on brake caliper carrier bolts. The caliper carrier bolts to the hub. The bolt stripped the hole on the hub. Manual indicate torque to 92 ft lbs. (IIRC)Both holes stripped. I was able to drill/enlarge the hole using the bit size indicated on the package. I just held it as straight as I could and enlarged the hole. Then used the tap and tried to stay as straight as possible. Installing the coil was not that easy. It took me a while but got it in there. I kept installing the coil until 3 or 4 threads came out the back. About 3 or 4 thread stayed in the front. Used a pair if side cutter to cut the threads flush. This was tough.. I should have used a grinder with cutoff wheel. No red or blue loctite was used.To this day, so far no problems with the fix. Will continue to monitor. Will post update if any issues pop up.

Great for repairs on old car frames!
Worked perfectly on a stripped seat belt anchor bolt hole in my Trans Am. Installing the insert is the easy part. Drilling out the hole just requires some diligence. A 31/64" drill bit and cutting fluid are a must, keep the drill straight and don't forget to clean out the hole after drilling and tapping. Anchor bolt torqued to spec perfectly after install!

Expensive and missing a key part!
How do you sell a Heilcoil “kit” and not include the drill bit you need? Also don’t have any instructions or indication of what sizes drill bit you need? You need an 31/64 sized bit or 12.3…. (Had to look that up). For some reason the M12 x 1.5 is like the magical size… no one has in stock…. Much cheaper kits all include the drill bit! Good luck buying a 31/64 bit… only way is to spend $75 to $100 to find it in a large kit at big box store!

Gets it done!
Gotta know how to tap straight and extract shavings properly as with any tap and die needed project of course. Worked perfectly for my dirtbike oil drain plug ('15 KTM 250 XCW with stainless drain bolt in aluminum case). Comes with several extra inserts, so I hooked up a couple riding buddies with same tap and inserts. Worth every penny!

Worked perfectly
Had to repair a stripped hole for a brake caliper bolt. Didn't want to spend large $$$ on replacing the wheel carrier. I've used a heli-coil before, so I had a good idea of what to do. This one worked perfectly. Problem solved in just a few minutes.
