Perfect Eyeliner
This liner gives a nice fine line at the base of my lashes. The dark gray color is more flattering than a harsh black. The liner stays put - no smudging or flaking - but is easy to remove with the proper product. This is the best eyeliner I have found.

Great eyeliner if you don’t care about it breaking all the time
This eyeliner is so easy to use. I’m a novice makeup person and I do the most simple makeup on my face because I’m a busy mom. Being Asian with small eyes, it’s critical to do eyeliner to make me not look sleepy all day. This eyeliner is so easy to use, and because it’s so thin, you don’t even have to shape it with a sharpener. It’s relatively smudge proof and lasts about 8 hours, no eye irritation for me. The only major issue with this eyeliner is that it breaks so easily so I end up loosing 1/4 to 1/3 of the product per eyeliner. This is relatively pricey but if I get it on sale at Shiseido, it’s not too (however, my favorite colors are always out when it goes on sale at Shiseido). I would buy it from Amazon because I can always find my favorite colors - brown and plum

Best subtle eyeliner
This is the best eyeliner for a subtle look or tight lighting. It makes a very fine line and goes on smoothly. It lasts all day too. I love the brown color because black eyeliner looks harsh on me.

Great For Small Hooded Eyes
The media could not be loaded. This is the BEST eyeliner I have ever used. I have deep set, small, hooded eyes. I also have oily eyelids and under eye. So eyeliners are a challenge. They are often too thick, so they get all over my eye corners. They also don't stay put all day without smudging all over. This eyeliner is highly pigmented and goes on smoothly and easily. The tip is very small so it doesn't require sharpening. I get real precise application and it lasts all day without smudging at all. It is so awesome. I am wearing the brown which is a very deep, dark matte brown. for day I wear it alone (my right eye pic). At night, I add a little bronze eyeshadow over it to give it that smudged glam look (my left eye pic). Both pics are after hours of wear.UPDATE: I loved this formula so much I bought the plum which is like dark brown with subtle red added to it. Like a brown burgundy. I like that plum isn’t too vibrant so it’s work appropriate.I bought the burgundy (see video) and it’s red. So when I wear it I look like I’ve been crying. Not flattering.

My favorite eyeliner!
Easy to use and makes a very thin line. Applies smoothly on mature skin.

Great precision, not smudge-proof
My eyelids are a little oily so I was hoping to find something that wouldn't transfer to my upper eyelids. I thought the pigment was great and has great precision, but unfortunately, it's just as transferable and smudgeable as the cheaper Sephora brand gel eyeliner. If you don't have oily lids or always use a primer, it's a great product!

Stays on when crying. Great for tightlining
I'm on chemo. My eyes get watery and tear up frequently as a side effect of my medication. I happened to use this Shiseido eyeliner when I thought I was having a good eye day, but my eyes randomly watered while on an outing! Despite how much I was blotting my eyes and wiping away tears all afternoon, this eyeliner was still on until I got home to remove it with micellar water at night.(I only line my top eyelids, not the bottom. I also did not reapply it that day, So YMMV.)I would absolutely buy this again! Thanks, Shiseido! Don't ever change your formula!P.S.I also used this eyeliner pre-chemo and was satisfied with how it would apply between my eyelashes when tightlining. It would stay in place nicely until the end of the day. Now that I don't have eyelashes anymore, I can dot my eyeliner on to imitate hair follicles... Kind of. Or just draw a thicker line.

Not smudge proof
I was looking for a cheaper replacement to my Chanel liner, which I love. This is not it. I wind up with raccoon eyes each time I wear it. Also, this is a very, very thin pencil. Would not buy again.
