Kendama USA Alex Smith Pro Model Red Maze

Overall a really solid and well preforming Kendama. In my opinion, I think this Kendama looks great, with the smooth matte finish on the tama, to the nice etched maze design on the ken. Overall has good function, balancing tricks are where this kendama has been treating me well as the matte finish on the tama allows for easily balancing the ken on it for techniques such as lighthouse, lunar, etc.That being said, one thing I did notice was how heavy the tama (ball) was compared to the ken (handle). Now this isn't the worst thing, and some may prefer it, but I usually enjoy a Kendama that is slightly more balanced out, although that is simply my opinion.Nonetheless, still a great Kendama, although because of the weight distribution I'm giving it a 4/5 stars (I would give 4.5 but it seems I can only do 4 or 5 not in between.) If you don't mind the tama being slightly heavier than you should definitely take a look at this Kendama cause it preforms great and looks great (at least in my opinion) and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it.

Son loves this Kendama. Super well made and the ball doesn't chip as it does with cheaper made Kendama's. The Kendama we had previously had the ball painted a marble color. After one week of use the ball started to chip everywhere.This is a well made Kendama worth every penny.

This kendama looked great and had a great feel in the hands however the ken snapped just below the sarado within 2 days. I believe this was due to the fact that the ken weighed a mere 60g while the tama weighed in at a whopping 85g so while trying to perform somewhat aggressive stabs (downspikes) the ken just split on me. Might also be due to the maze design lessening the overall durability but I don't think that was as much of a factor as the off-weighted ken and tama. Usually most aren't more than 10g difference and my other Pro Model (JW) is only .9g difference between ken and tama. I do have others that have been off by more than 10g but this was my first to be 25g difference. Alex Smith rocks and the ken felt great and played surprisingly well even for the off weight so hoping mine was just a dud as wood products can be unpredictable. First one to break out of my collection of around 15 or so. Still gave it 2 stars because the tama didn't go to waste... it ended up on a heavy Krom ken handle I had and plays great on it. Again, I hate to give a bad review but it is what it is. :/

Amazing texture excellent craft men ship and includes stickers that act like duct tape and a better manual then regular kendamas. Just what you expect when you hear the word pro model.

I bought this for my grandson for his 12th birthday, he will enjoy this for a long time. They are popular where we live and this Kendama is really well made and looks great, very speedy delivery too!

as far as durability goes, the pro models are absolutely the way you want to go. I never write amazon reviews, but after using the alex smith for close to 4 months I just had to come back and recommend it. The price seems to be going up as time goes by, so think fast!!
