Mastersingers of Nuremberg (Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg) Full Score

I use scores a lot to follow music when listening - a deeper listening perhaps, picking out things that are often buried away from your attention. It anchors me to the music and visually ‘explains’ it to me. I can follow it adequately - I can’t claim to be fluent, but I know what it all means. The point being I purchased this because I have never really liked Meistersinger and felt that being focused on it better would bring it to life for me. There are some extraordinary rhythmic tricks going on in parts and there’s an overall hyperactivity about it, but it never fails to remind me of the bits of Siegfried I dislike. I’ll keep plodding away with it. Nevertheless the score is very legible and does what it says on the tin.
