Pretty similar to others in the series
A fine record of the territory and the era covered. A little short on match detail, but dutiful in reporting on the personnel performing on the cards. You can trace the history of the promotion via this book.

A Five-Star Book of Memories
I was amazed at how quickly this book came in the mail. Upon opening it, if you were a pro wrestling fan in the Detroit area during the Ed Farhat (the Sheik) promotion, this book is magic, pure magic. Great photos and on top of that results not only from Detroit, but many other areas that used the talent. Mar James has put together a wealth of information, bringing back many happy memories of days gone by of attending matches with my late father and grandfather. Now if we could only find videos of that era.

Thank you, Mr. Mark James!
I'm a big fan of pro-wrestling in Japan. I would really like to know about the match of the Funks vs Butcher & Sheik in Detroit in the fall of 1977, which seemed to be a clue to the historic bout by the same tag teams in Japan at the end of the year. I found some interesting records including the one of the match mentioned above. I'm very satisfied with this book!

Helpful resource but still disappointing
Like the Atlanta book, having the results in one book is nice. The Detroit book gives a few more specific results but still did not satisfy what I expected the book to include. The sample pages did not indicate how the results were presented and had they been shown, I would not have ordered the book. My rating for this book would be a 2.5

THE SHEIK, BOBO BRAZIL, PAMPERO FIRPO...they're all here!
Being a wrestling results guy, this Detroit book fills a lot of holes in my own results files. Results tell so many stories! Shows how wrestlers were used in a territory, on top, middle of the card, opening match, or TV enhancement talent. All the big names came through Detroit at one time or another, and you can follow their wins, loses, and titles held. Mark James as usual provides a great cover layout and photos inside the book that are period correct. This book is an absolute must if you are interested in how the Detroit territory looked during wrestling's old school days!

If you grew up watching wrestling in Detroit or Toronto in the 60's or 70's,this is a great resource.
