ICON - The Best Of Blue Note

Being a great fan of Blue Note recordings, have been collecting them since 1963, in those days they were on vinyl, however I found this CD an excellent addition to my collection. The disc includes a good number of my favorite musicians, playing what I would class as classic tracks. This is the kind of album that someone just starting a jazz collection should consider, as this is a compilation album and introduces the listener to over 20 artists. Terrific disc, great sounds, buy one, you will not be disappointed.

A perfect sampler of great jazz covering various musicians across several decades who recorded for the iconic Blue Note label.

Sound quality is very good. This compilation could be described as "The Best of....The Best" as in listening to one of the best tunes/songs of one of the best jazz performers. An excellent introduction to some of Blue Note's fantastic jazz performers. Awesome.

This is a great collection of modern and contemporary jazz. Whether familiar with the genre or looking for a 'sampler' to inspire further exploration, this album has plenty to offer for everyone.

A good and varied compilation of Blue Note music

At a time devoid of any meaningful sense of zeitgeist it's incredibly refreshing to reconnect with music that is so substantive, soulful and relevant. My busy life means that I do most of my music listening in the car, so this great, great double CD has proven to be a great hit adding colour and brio to the daily commute, and something I enthuse about to family, friends and work colleagues.
