Worthy addition to the ever-growing TIE fighter fleet
LEGO has released a great many TIE fighter variants in the twenty years they've been producing Star Wars sets. This may seem repetitive to the casual observer but the many nuances of TIE design in the films and shows provide ample source material for some varied and fun builds. Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter stands out in the crowd with its bold red colors, design inspired by but not a copy of the loved TIE Interceptor which debuted in Return of the Jedi, and a not-large but key selection of minifigures. The red is the most outstanding visual element of this TIE. It looks exciting and jumps off the shelf or table once constructed. With any TIE there is a bit of repetition in building the wings but the notched design of these provides some interest when working through the panels, even the fourth time around. As with most current Star Wars models, the construction is rock solid and the TIE can stand up to heavy play. The wing connections are quite interesting and extremely sturdy once in place. It's great to get Kaz and Bucket as two hero leads from the show. Right now there are only two sets based on the Resistance animated show and the selection of heroes is thin, so these are welcome. Major Vonreg, while lacking a face under the helmet, has a nice design and fits the aesthetic well. The Leia design is inspired by her appearance in The Force Awakens and it's always great to add a Leia minifig to your collection.Hope to see LEGO release more sets based on Resistance, especially ones from the hero vehicle selection. With Resistance about to start its final season we will see!

Wonderful Lego set for the kids...
My kids were quite happy to receive this set as a birthday present... They said they loved the Star Wars Rebels’ series and Major Vonn Reng’s ship was the coolest tie they’ve ever seen. The set is easy to build, sturdy and strong and the figures are OK.I bought ours here at Amazon for 60 dollars. Insane seeing folks asking more than 100 dollars for this set.

Fun and sturdy!
This is a fun build, sturdy, looks sharp, and the "phasers" (or whatever) that it shoots actually fly pretty straight! (I can see why it has a safety/eye-injury warning! ) The instructions are cool in that you build it in sections, and the minifigs are spread out, so you build one minifig in 4 outta 5 sections... paces out the fun! :) I thought the Leia and Kaz minifigs seem like they're "gimmes" for the set (they seem out of place for the scene) but who would turn down extraneous minifigs?? (Oh, it was weird that the Major's head under the helmet was a solid black piece with no face... You can't see thru the helmet anyway, but it's the first time I've seen that! )I got this for about $55 so I thought it was a great deal!

Fast interstellar travel in style.
I find that the red color makes it difficult to travel to worlds where I don’t want to be recognized. However, if you want to make a statement when landing on a Death Star (versus the run-of-the-mill gray, black and white transportation) then this is your ship. And given the tenuous lifespan of Death Stars, this ship will get you safely away fast, reliably and in style.

Outstanding set
I really love the red and black combination especially with the red pilot. There hasn’t been a regular tie interceptor made in a while and this is basically it but different colors and it’s looks so good. The durability is really good and will not break easily unless purposely done. I really recommend this unique and would get it instantly when on sale.
