Paderno World Cuisine 7-7/8-Inch Reinforced Bouillon Strainer, Stainless Steel

Well made and survived 5 dishwasher washing/drying cycles with zero evidence of rust. This is a very fine mesh and will certainly filter out anything the size of a 1/4 grain of table sugar - perhaps even smaller. The actual straining portion of the cone is about 1/2 the height of the total cone container - so you must stir what you're straining to get the liquid through it. I'm please with this unit and would recommend it.

The stainless steel mesh of the chinois was dented and deformed in the first shipment. I sent it back to be replaced. The next one had a small tear in the mesh, enough to cut my wife's finger. I sent it back and asked for a refund. I think that there is a batch of defective products sitting in the warehouse.

I used this model in culinary school and believe it to be the best for the purpose. Others are not fine enough for my preference.
