In Nonna's Kitchen: Recipes and Traditions from Italy's Grandmothers

So ENJOYING this book!
I bought the book because I'm into leftovers -- and a number of people recommended it to me for that purpose. (Nonnas made use of every scrap!) But the book is so much more! I can't wait to make a number of the recipes, and it reads like a delightful travel guide, region by region (reminiscent of Waverly Roots, The Food Of Italy -- a very good thing!). Just love learning about each of the Nonna's and how they so loved their family's, their country/ region, and the food it provided them. A Keeper in many ways!

Awful
Worst cookbook I’ve ever seen. Not organized or categorized. Punishing to read.

Authentic Italian recipes!
Great insight, stories, and recipes. It all reminds me of my mom and the love and warmth she shared in her kitchen with everyone! So happy you took the time to research and write the recipes that were otherwise in their heads!

Grandma Knows Best!
For lovers of Italian food in particular, but for any lover of cooking and Italy, this is a must have for your collection. Every recipe is preceded by an introduction to the Nonna (Grandmother) whose speciality it is. These Nonnas run the gamut, from sophisticated Roman and Florentine women to women from small villages, still cooking as their own Nonnas did. I've tried several of the recipes and each has been spectacular. I'm buying another copy to take as a gift for a week-long 60th birthday celebration at a villa near Sienna. Ciao!

A gem. I've bought 3 copies.
This book is a true gem, filled with not just recipes but the personal stories behind the nonne (that's plural for nonna, for non-Italian speakers), as well as a history of Italian home cooking in general. I've bought 3 copies already and have given 2 as gifts.

Trust the Nonnas!
Immensely enjoyable! These nonnas are a great resource. Consider that most Italian chefs learned from his nonna. The simplicity of many recipes works and is refreshing. Nice bios of the donnas, as well. Carol Field is an old hand in Italy.

Cooking Memories
What an excellent, fun cookbook--filled with stories that match your memories and easy to follow classic recipes. I think of Nonna each time I open the book and try to re-create her, and my mother's best meals!
