CLEVERFIT - The Adjustable Collar Stay, Stainless Steel Set of 4 in Travel Case

The media could not be loaded. The CleverFit adjustable collar stays are my new accessory when dressing up. I wear dress shirts fairly often when going into the office or meeting with clients. I've found that the plastic ones included with my dress shirts tend to get lost in the laundry, are mismatched sizes and bend over time. In fact, I tested this today by buying a new shirt and the plastic collar stays were already slightly bent!I wanted to put the CleverFit metal collar stays to the test since they made the claim of being sturdy and adjustable.They come in a nicely made black plastic case with a snap closure and a contrasting blue inner holder for the 4 individual collar stays. The case keeps them securely in place for travel and this would easily pop in a suit pocket or luggage.I have dress shirts from various makers such as Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Calvin Klein, Kirkland (Costco), etc... and they all seem to have different size collar stays. I've got spread collars, button down collars and forward point collars which add to the wide range of sizes necessary to wear my shirts properly. With this adjustable set of collar stays, now I don't have to worry about trying to pick through my ever-growing mismatched collection.These collar stays are great! They come well packaged, appear to be very durable, save a ton of time from having to sort through a myriad of collar stays and are easy to travel with. My husband used plastic collar stays. They would break or get stuck in his shirts. Sometimes they were not the correct size. On a whim, I got his first set of these. HE LOVED THEM! He travels for work and so I came back to buy more so that he can leave a set in his suitcase and have a set at home. I love the fact that they come in the case. We have cats and so this prevents them from becoming unauthorized cat toys. My husband loves the fact that they are adjustable and a quality product.

This is an awesome product! So glad I found this before Christmas - it was the perfect gift for all the guys! Solves a major headache for travel, and I'll be using it for every trip now. Easy to pack, easy to use, and strong metal construction makes this a winner for me! The package comes with two sets, so it's easily one set I can leave in the closet and one with my luggage so that I'm never short collar stays. I've seen reviews discussing the issue with wearing them through airport security - it hasn't been an issue for me yet, but its no big deal for me to just take them out before I go through the detectors and toss them into my carry-on bag.I highly recommend this as an awesome gift idea for any guy who has to wear a suit or shirt and tie - makes like much easier, especially for a traveler!

The make is good but could have been more solid & a bit more heavy gauge to give a premium feel

Good product that gets the job done. These collar stays are very well built and are good quality. I've been using them for work (about 4 days a week for the past 5 or 6 months) and they show no signs of wear. They look just as good as the day I got them.The ability to adjust is great - I used to have a huge pile of collar stays in several sizes, and I hated having to shuffle through and find just the right size for the shirt I was wearing for the day. Now I can just slide up and down to size for each shirt. It's a huge convenience.I have a few complaints though. They're a little pricey (should be $20 tops - but they'll last you forever, assuming you don't lose them). Also, I was it was a hair thinner and a notch shorter. The smallest size is just a tiny bit too big for some of my shirts from Banana Republic and Express (medium size). This tells me that these stays might be too big for some smaller sizes. They're also much thicker than the average collar stay, but that's not a big deal for me.

Thank goodness for these collar stays. Have been using them for several years and have replaced all the plastic stays. As I wear ties with my dress shirts, I have no issues adjusting and keeping the stays in place. I adjust using my index finger and thumb, as easy as extending or retracting a boxcutter blade.

Hubby absolutely loves these. He asked me, "Where in the world did you find these?". I just smiled.He wears dress shirts three times a week at a minimum. He had a huge pile of stays in his drawer, and every morning he would rummage through that drawer looking for the correct set for that day's shirt. Well, no more! He packed away those stays for when those shirts get donated to Goodwill or whatever.These things add more weight than you'd expect though, I was surprised at how heavy they are. Not too heavy, hubby doesn't seem to mind. He did comment though - and this is a big deal for travelers - he will have to remember to take them out when going through security! That thought never occurred to me. Yes, they are metal. Yes, they will set off the alarms. He said that is worried that some over-zealous security agent at TSA might think that these are a weapon and his new beloved collar stays might be confiscated.

They work fine once you get them inserted. However, after you set them to the correct length, when you try to get them in and have to put any pressure on them, they collapse to a smaller length than you need. Also, because of the shape of the end with the arrow-like point, they can be difficult to remove, as the edges of the arrow get caught easily. They will do the job if you're patient but for me it's easier to just use nice metal collar stays to avoid the above stated hassles.

Immediately go to your cabinets and throw out all the plastic stays you've accumulated over the years as these are all you need. The adjustable lengths are a godsend and it's surprising how even the stays that came with the shirt were not really long enough. These can be any length you need them to be and will make a tremendous difference in the look of your collars. A bonus is the plastic box they come in. Although It qualifies as excessive packaging as you'd never use it as a travel case you can pry out the plastic tray. You then have a nice credit card size box that you can store gift cards in and other things.
