Fabric Jewelry Wrapped, Braided and Sewn (Create With Nancy)

Wow - love this book!
I have a handful of books about fabric jewelry and this is my favorite. It goes way beyond cylindrical beads unlike several of the other books--although this type of bead is included. The author shows how to wrap small objects (such as washers) with fabric or ribbon and explains how to use "coating gels" so beads are durable and strong. Basic jewelry construction is explained in clear concise language. My two favorite chapters are devoted to wool roving beads, and braided and knotted jewelry. The beads and jewelry in this book are beautiful and creative with great colors, shapes, mixed materials, etc. It has sufficient detail for beginners although could be a little overwhelming because so much is included. It is going to keep me delightfully busy. Very inspiring.

Terrific...
Something for everyone interested in making imaginative, wearable, unique, attractive jewelry from fiber and fabric - expertise not required. The projects are beautifully designed and well written, with emphasis on attaining quality results. A big fiber stash isn't necessary and most tools are simple. There are plenty of really good suggestions for alternatives and substitutions too. This is one of my most favorite jewelry making books - and my library is pretty extensive. Follow the instructions and/or use pics as inspirational eye candy, I'll bet this book won't disappoint.

For teens
I make jewelry as a living. I purchase this book thinking it could expand my horizons in jewelry making. I found out after receiving it that it wasn't my "thing". The designs look immature to me. Something a teenager would wear. Not something I would sell. Projects for teens that want to wear it themselves.

What a fun idea. Making jewelry with fabric
What a fun idea. Making jewelry with fabric. If you sew or someone you know sews, you will always have those leftover pieces of fabric. Now you can turn them into fun jewelry. A great way to spend an afternoon with a daughter or granddaughter.

Glad I Bought This Book
This is such a neat book. For anyone loving to sew or sell your products, this really helps in the making of scarves and the jewelry you could add to the product. I'm sure we'll get plenty of use from this book. I've gone through it several times and like it more each time.

Not what I expected.
I'm sending this one back. I don't do that often but there just wasn't enough there for me to want to try. Not only would I not enjoy making these projects - I would never wear any of them. I guess it might be useful for someone just starting out making jewelry but I just didn't think the projects were that attractive.

Best fabric jewelry book I own.
I own about a dozen different cooks on Fabric Jewelry making and this book is by far the best one. The instructions are detailed enough for a beginning fabric crafter to follow. The photos and techniques are not the same run of the mill ideas and are a great basis of inspiration for and experienced crafter as well.If you can only buy one book, this is the one.
