Old School remedies are still the best!
This stuff is absolutely brilliant. I've looked at several of the reviews, and I'll address a couple of people's concerns. First off, my issue. I have some issue with my scalp that is itchyyyy and irritating beyond belief. I get a bit of dandruff, but nothing that would prevent me from wearing a black sweater. One day, my friend (who is an old-school pharmacist) noticed my itchiness and suggested I try regular T-gel shampoo for it. He explained that it was an ancient remedy for skin disorders and mumbled something about it's antibacterial/fungal qualities and such. I tried Regular T-Gel which can be found everywhere, and it did the trick well enough, but I still had occasional itch issues. I was looking on the Neutrogena website and discovered this stubborn itch formula and also discovered that the stuff was't sold in my area. Therefore, I came to the source of all good things (Amazon) and found a better price and none of the hefty shipping cost associated with other websites (Thank you Prime 2-day shipping!)When I started using it, this was my daily shampoo for 2 weeks. After that, I backed off to 2 or 3 times a week--basically when I got itchy again. I put a liberal amount on my hair when I start my shower, proceed to wash the rest of the body, then rinse it off, so it has at least 5 or so minutes of contact time. I then follow up with conditioner. My hair feels great and the scalp definitely is much improved. Most people don't like the smell of it. Yeah. The active ingredient is coal tar, and make no mistake, it smells like...well...coal tar. However, it rinses clean, and the tar smell does not linger after the shower. I specifically asked someone to smell my hair after a shower (yeah, only slightly awkward) and all they could smell was my conditioner. The bottle says it may discolor grey hair. I have a little salt and pepper action going on in my hair, and I haven't noticed any discoloration. I'll update this in 20 or so years when I've gone completely grey and let you know how that works. Other reviewers say it's not an issue. In summary, if you have "scalp acne" or an itchy irritated scalp, give this stuff a try. Think of the smell as bitter medicine. it does the trick when nothing else does.

Works great! Had relief just after one wash
I have eczema and psoriasis on both of my hands and feet and of course my scalp. I’ve tried many natural remedies and nothing has worked compared to this shampoo. The bottle is small and a tad pricy but is worth the cost.I’ve only used it twice but noticed a difference after the first use. I thought I’d feel a refreshing tingling sensation on my scalp but I don’t. Either way ids not a deal breaker. I’ll continue to use it.My scalp doesn’t itch like it used too. Especially when I sweat. That made the itchiness even worse! Especially in the summer. The scent isn’t great but it’s not awful. It’s tolerable.I wish they made a conditioner too but they don’t.Please note that I also been using doves conditioner eczema and psoriasis since this brand doesn’t make a conditioner. With my hair type I need conditioner for moisture and to detangle.I can’t say that the relief I have is just from the shampoo but with the combo of the two my scalp is 75% better within using them twice in one week.I recommend both items. Even though this is supposed to be just for neutregena.

Neutrogena T/Gel is a small yet Powerful therapeutic shampoo
I used this product for my malignant dandruff that I have had since I was a child. Not all shampoos are created equal and some are light on effect but heavy on aromatic smell. That is not the case with the T/Gel, although the smell is something to be remiss, (the 2% coal tar smell overpowers the menthol) it is powerful and packs a punch. Only a dime size is needed as it penetrates your scalp and soothes your scalp from itching and flaking. I Definitely felt a difference after the first use and something i would buy again if my flaking persists.

LOVE THIS
Please don't ever stop making this stuff. I have tried everything for itchy scalp and dandruff- head and shoulders, selsun, tresemme scalp, etc. and nothing has worked for both conditions. This does smell medicine-y but it's easy to cover up with conditioner. I usually shampoo, then put this on the back and lower part of my scalp, then finish with a conditioner on the lower half of my hair. Works perfectly! I'm no longer scratching my head like a dog all day and I wear black almost every day and I haven't had a single flake since using this! You only need to use a teeny tiny amount at once and a bottle lasts a long time. I don't use it on the upper part of my scalp bc it makes my hair feel kind of gross/greasy. I have oily skin and hair.Update: I've used this stuff for a long time and it's worked beautifully. I noticed, however, that my scalp was still progressively becoming itchier despite using this product. I talked to someone with a sulfate allergy who experienced a dry, itchy scalp. I have used sulfate free shampoo for a few days now and I don't even have to use this stuff anymore! No more itch or flakes!

This stuff works great!
Okay, so let me start off by saying that this stuff stinks to high heaven!! Like, this stuff smells awful and it lingers on your hair after. Even our 9 year old could smell it across the room after I showered and asked what that stinky smell was lol! With that being said, it's the only thing I have tried over the counter that has worked to relieve my awful itching from dandruff. I've had dandruff for years, but the last couple months it's been itching soooo bad!! It's miserable. I've tried all other brands and finally said might as well try this. I'm so glad that I did. It also makes my hair super soft too. I don't use conditioner, (I know it's weird, I just don't like conditioner.) so I know it's from the shampoo. Hopefully it keeps working. I'll deal with the God awful smell for the relief it gives me.

Coal tar isn't good for you but it works
This is a favourite. I was skeptical at coal tar but since so many hair products gave me itch and overactive skin production I gave it a go. The first product that works and I've been using it since. The tar smell reminds of something for horses but it's a bit manly not too bad. I use it about once a week and a mild schampoo for the rest.If you really need give it a try. Don't use it too much though. It's treatment as much as schampoo.

You might not get what you think you've ordered
I did not receive what I wanted so I emailed them. They said I'd been sent what was described but not what was pictured. They admitted that they'd used the wrong picture and "could understand why I was confused!!! I could have bought what I was sent locally, at less than half the price. I told them this and all they offered was a couple of quid refund. Waste of time. I won't be ordering from the company again and certainly wouldn't recommend them.
