Initial thoughts upon opening it out the box was positive. It is well packaged and I found no damage.The product is stylish in its minimalistic & understated design - the brushed metal top is a quality finish. Though the underside is plastic, it is practical and the overall build feels robust and durable. The weight of the product is light to carry around but also has a bit of weight that adds to the robust feel. The iron hot plates are solid and of adequate size.It is very simple to use with the two control knobs and red lights to indicate if a hot plate is active. There is one small critiscm which is I wish the control knobs, rather than simply twisting the knob to the OFF area, could click/lock into the OFF position for assurance & to increase the quality feel. However that's not a huge issue and it is still practical and safe to use in its function. For the price paid, it is difficult to knock it for that.I have used the hob several times so far and it has been a pleasant experience each time with sufficient heat from both plates and easy control. Plates heat up fairly quickly. It is easy quick and easy to clean and pack away when not in use. So I am happy with my purchase and can certainly recommend it if in the market for one.

A very good looking professional hot plate which performs well. I have found it can get very hot when on full heat and it is advisable to use it at half power to begin with, which will soon boil water. After that, it is easy to control.

I'm having some work done in the kitchen, and have a regular over waiting to to be fitted, so as a temporary stop gap I saw this and though I'd give it a go, WOW and this may sound silly but I LOVE IT ,it's so plug and play simple, it makes cooking fun again, it's like a sense of camping ,but in the house.So when you first get it, you pull it out of the box, peel off to advisory stickers from each cooking ring stating that upon first switch on, each cooking surface may smoke as a little as a protective product will burn off, then ready to rock and roll.So I switched mine on, let the ring glow for 10 mins or so, then got busy with the Fizzy and cooked pasta parcels and it worked beautifully. It's absolutely brilliant, and surprised at how fast the cooking rings heated up, I used a pot cooking pot and anti stick cooking pot on mine and works great, you can use anything that you would use on a regular stove. I'd happily use this every day, it's that good.

Easy to use solid plate hob. The hob itself works well and looked fine initially but unfortunately over time the markings for controls etc... wore off and both the housing and the actual hob plates are prone to rust. It's a shame really if the materials used had been better it would have been a great product and I certainly would have been happy to pay more for better quality.
