Decent line of paints.
I consider these entry level to mid-grade artist quality paints. They are good, and I like them more than Winsor & Newton most of the time. Gamblin paints are also made in the US and from everything I could read about the company is that they are constantly evolving their brand for the better. I love their ultramarine blue most of all. The only pigment I hate from this set is their yellow ochre. It’s gritty and it’s terrible.Overall this is a solid paint set for students who want to avoid student grade paints and professionals who like having an easy to find source on hand for paints. You can find Gamblin in almost every art supply store. Are these paints better than Williamsburg, blockx, or Michael Harding? No, but they can sure get the job done and do a pretty damn good job of it.
