This is exactly what I needed
The LintEater Vent Cleaning kit is of high quality and worked exactly as I needed it to. I followed the instructions except I used our regular vacuum hose and the supplied adapter with some masking tape to seal the two together. I don't think I had to use the vacuum at all because all the lint was stacked up from the vent adapter and it came tumbling out. My vent goes straight up about 12' so I did not have any bends. My gas dryer installer also suggested checking the roof vent. I went up on the roof to be sure it was reaching all the way up and to check the roof vent. The brush was going almost all the way up but the vent pipe on the roof is rectangular and seals to the roof tile so I could not remove it and the brush would not go into that small vent. I reached my hand into the flap and it was completely clogged with semi-hard lint. I just had to replace my dryer. When we did there was a lot of lint in the flexible pipe from the dryer to the vent pipe so I decided to get this kit after reading the reviews. I am glad I did not get the less expensive brushmaster which was $19 shipped. Some of the reviews on that were not so good. Now I am wondering if I needed a new dryer at all since the roof vent was completely clogged. So I highly recommend checking the roof vent if you have one. Oh well the dryer was 10 years old so it would have needed to be replaced soon anyway. The extension pieces went together easily and my coordless drill spun easily cleaning the pipe very well. I highly recommend spending a little more to get this kit over less expensive ones.

Simple and Effective - and EASY!
Purchased this because our dryer repairman indicated that we should clean out the vent line or our warranty may be voided. He also suggested that cleaning the vent would prevent possible lint fires. So, looked around and came across this model. I read the reviews and figured I would give this a shot based upon the product description and reviews. Our dryer vent comes vertically off the back bottom of the dryer. It then makes a bend at the ceiling and yet another bend to get outside. Our exhaust duct is also smooth metal - not a foil or plastic (which should be replaced with rigid smooth metal).Followed the directions to remove the louver to the exterior vent and disconnected the dryer from the vent inside. Hooked up my shop vac to the outside (with the included vent adapter that came with this vent cleaning kit). Took my cordless screw gun according to the instructions for the cleaning kit and cleaned the vent from the inside. Then swapped the vac to the inside and cleaned from the outside. My total length of pipe is about 15 feet so I couldn't do it in one direction.Once finished, hooked my dryer back up, packed up my drill and the cleaning kit and went onto another chore. It took me more time to write this review than it took to do the task from start to finish. Ok - I might be exaggerating, but literally took about 20 minutes from start to finish including cleaning up.This is a great product - just take your time (you really do not need much) and follow the instructions. I highly recommend this to anyone. On a scale of 'do-it-yourself' from 1 to 10 (10 being an extreme do-it-yourselfer to 1 being the 'I do not know which end of the hammer to hold' type of person, I would say that you need to be a 3 or higher in order to successfully use this product.

took care of the issue
I had not cleaned my vent from my dryer to the outside in years and felt I needed to be more responsible and not create a fire hazard. The issue was just moving the dryer . and going at it form both ends as the distance was about 30 feet. It didn't fit perfectly but it did good enough.

Worked better than expected. Great kit!
Surprisingly high quality components. Actually worked better than I was expecting. Each rod is solid yet flexible nylon with high-quality fittings. The brushes and other components were also very good quality. Included instructions were clear and comprehensive along with good photos of the LintEater in action.I was shocked how much lint came out of a 14/ft length dryer duct pipe system that's permanently built into my home. I would say it was a good large pillowcase full. Not only is my dryer duct 14/ft long, it also has two 90° bends that the LintEater system had no issue flexing around.Tips and suggestions:- Utilize the 4" cap shop vacuum attachment, that comes in the kit, on the opposite end you're cleaning from and hook your shop vacuum exhausts hose (pushing air out as opposed to sucking in) to to help blow the lint out as you are brushing/cleaning from the opposite end. Really helped in my case.- Also, be aware that you will need a 1/2 inch chuck on your drill or you will have to utilize a bolt with the head cut off one end to fit smaller drill chucks. My poor dryer, I'm shocked it was able to dry anything. Now drying times have been cut in half and I am no longer worrying about a potential fire or burning out the heating element on my dryer. Will use the kit over and over 2-3 times a year from this point forward. Probably will have paid for itself due to the energy savings from cutting drying times in half over the next 1-2 months.Well worth the investment.

Easier than I expected.
I kept putting it off because I was expecting problems. My outside cover doesn't come off and I was figuring that I'd run into problems getting the rod in. Inside, it goes into the wall and immediately up, so I figured I'd have a hard time turning that corner. The rod is insanely flexible. I used a leaf blower instead of my shop vac, put it in on the inside and cleaned both from the inside and outside. Took me maybe 15 minutes including moving the washer and getting set up and cleaned up. Also used the thinner brush to clean out the dryer, and it worked great.
