Don Currie's Focus Movement Faith

Works but on some targets only.
I’ve gone through the video several times and compared it with the Orvis wingshooting book. The reality is that the ‘instinctive shooting system’ is fine for going away or quartering targets in its purest form where lead is not that much of an issue. The system totally falls apart on many modern clay targets like battues, loopers and so on. You have to use the clock face technique. Also it’s not useful for crossers or distant targets where a deliberate lead is needed. It’s actually a modified swing through technique where the swing starts with an unmounted gun and you focus on the target and swing past it as you cheek the gun. If it’s a close target, you won’t see much lead but if a distant one then you would expect to.If one could potentially focus on a dime sized portion of the clay (as suggested) I’m sure it would be great but the reality is that most casual shooters will find it near impossible. Also, clay targets follow a different flight pattern from live game for which the Churchill method was originally developed. In my opinion, the system is ill suited for most clay targets and unless you have a keen eyesight and fast reflexes- and lots of money to practise the technique, you would be better served by the standard pull away method.I have been practising and using the Churchill technique for a long time and rather begrudgingly admit that its utility is somewhat limited.

Great Video!
I've been a practitioner of the "Churchill Method" for several years. Don's melding it with sporting clays techniques, with which I'm just becoming familiar, fits my needs perfectly. His explanations proceed step-by-step in a very logical and clear fashion. The photography is extremely well done and the use of the Eye Cam makes it even more valuable. There is a great deal of information in this video and the ability to review it one section at a time makes it especially useful.

Focus on Don Currie's FOCUS, MOVEMENT AND FAITH.
My rating is really 4.5. My rating of slightly less than 5 is because some of the camera work should have been better. With some views, the camera should have been in front of Don to get a closer and clearer look at the clay.Don is a talented and very Professional Shooter and Instructor.I've learned a lot already. More importantly, I am certain I will learn more with every watching, and undoubtedly become a better Sporting Clays shooter by being committed to Mr. Currie's Focus, Movement and Faith.I am grateful to Mr. Harry Wooley, a Friend and Shooting Associate of Mr. Currie's. Harry has been my Instructor this Summer in Utah. He recommended it too me.

Helpful and well produced training video. Don is a solid instructor but I have not yet caught on to his advice to focus only on the clay and have faith in instinctual lead. I will keep watching and practicing and see if I reach a new level.

This is the ONLY DVD you will ever need.
I bought this DVD upon the recommendation of a life long shot gunner, bird hunter and guide. He was introduced to Don Currie's method by his instructor. The instructors recommendation was " I have a lot of shooting DVD's and this one is the best. It's hard to not understand that message.Watch a segment, go shoot. Watch another segment, go shoot....and you continually improve. Can't say anything more. Yeah, it's very good.

This is a video that all beginning and intermediate shooters should watch. Tons of good information from a good instructor.
