As a historian of psychology I have found that Smith's latest work is an excellent synthesis of all his previous work on the history of the mind and the human sciences. For any student of this subject this book is a must, for anyone with an interest in the history of psychology, or the developing concepts of the mind this book provides a great introduction to the subject.
