Studio Pro653 Pistol Grip Glass Cutter with Oil Reservoir

Really happy with my purchase! At first it is pretty oily but now that I've used it a while, the oil flow has settled down and I love it very much!!

I have used this tool before. The tip broke off my other one so I ordered the same tool. I do like the tool. However, when oil needs to be added, it is difficult to tell how much to use. I added far too much the first time, and even with tightening the screw, it continued to leak. However, albeit the issue is user error, I would continue to recommend it.

As a retired field service engineer, I have been fixing things for the last 50 years. When it came time to fix some storm windows, I got out the trusty glass cutter that my grandfather left me. My glass cutting skills seem to have atrophied, and the used pane of glass I practiced on was soon trash. I purchased a new glass cutter from the local hardware store, but the results were the same. In desperation, I Googled glass cutters, & clicked on the link for this item. The enclosed instructions seemed idiot proof, and my storm windows are now finished. I showed my daughter how to use this cutter, and she proceeded to cut perfect panes. Maybe I should have let her do all the work?

Bought this to replace an old one of the same make and model

I never was successful cutting glass with a conventional "Red Devil" type cutter so I decided to take a chance with this one. On my first try it made a perfect score and the glass broke cleanly. I then went on to successfully cut glass for twelve picture frames with only two mishaps, probably because I wasn't applying enough pressure to make a clean score. I noticed the cutter wheel is much smaller on this cutter than on a Red Devil. I'm glad I purchased it and would recommend it highly. Also, be sure to invest in a pair of runner pliers. They make the job so much easier.

I was really looking forward to getting this cutter, it appeared to be of higher quality than others like it. I was wrong. The blade just falls off I have tried to screw to back on, even bought a little screwdriver for it, but it will NOT stay on. Very disappointed.

Works wonderful. This is the second one. Not too big and not too small. This makes it easier to hold when cutting. After MANY uses, the first one had the cutting wheel fall off. The screw that holds the cutting wheel had come loose so be sure to check it from time to time and tighten it. There is no telling how long it would have lasted had the screw not come loose. I think that it is easier to just have a small bowl of oil that you can dip the wheel in from time to time instead of filling the oil reservoir.

This is my third one.I love the control I have with them. I also like the pistol grip. It seems to be eaiser to use with my arthritis than a pencil one.The only draw back is that ALL THREE have leaked oil, or have excess oil released when in use, or stored tip down. I will buy again if needed.

This is a totally useless glass cutter. I ruined some good glass trying to cut with this one. I tossed it out and went back to my old one. Absolutely no sharpness to the blade at all. Cheap and not worth the money.
