Finis Rapid Monofin is fintastic!
I got the two day shipping, and it came within three days, it was awesome, comes in a HUGE box, that's relatively well packed. The fin is much bigger than expected, but the moment you put it on it feels like magic. I wear a size 9 shoe, and I'm a girl. The foot pocket was a little big with the straps not going to the tightness I needed so sometimes the strap would slip off. I'm most likely going to get water socks so that it would slide around on my feet. My friend who is a size 12 men could not fit in the foot pocket. Fairly easy to adjust, but it feels amazing in the water. The click is a little hard to get when putting it back on after pushing the emergency button, but you can feel the click so after you get used to it, you are good to go. The propulsion you get with the Rapid is amazing. I'm using this for mermaiding, and it's helped me swim better, get trimmer, and figure out good tricks. I would highly recommend this product. I'm in love with my monofin, and would highly suggest if you want a good medium with more propulsion than the foil, but less expensive than the competitor then this is what you want!

Great Fun Product!
I chose this rating because I have so much fun with it, and I go very fast!I like that it helps you get the hang of the Dolphin Kick very well!If you do it right you get a burst of speed and if you do it wrong you sort of flounder as it bends funky. If you are an Expert Swimmer this may not be the one for you, Sure it may give you a small add to speed but you already have so much technique that it won't be a huge amount. For the Beginner or Intermediate however, this thing adds a large amount of speed and even helps teach you proper technique! It's Cheep, It's Loads of Fun, Helps Technique, Adds Speed, And Adjustable Straps!!One last note: If you have a very wide foot this probably won't work for you unless you want a really tight fit. The largest foot size however is greater than it says. I have a size 12-13 foot and I still had plenty of room. Best way to wear them is with diving / Water socks only.

Minimal quality ... pool recreation only.
Personally, I was going to use this for freediving in the ocean, but this really isn't a fin for that sort of thing. I returned it as soon as I gave it a test drive at the pool. For what it is, I think it's a decent (definitely bottom of the line) product for recreational pool swimming.1. Biggest complaint: The plastic is very flimsy. (I'm no athlete with powerful legs, either). I'd tried the Finis Trainer I model, thinking it was TOO rigid for me, but this one warps quite unevenly and drastically upon each kick.2. The strap design is very rudimentary. No matter how tight I had it, it still slipped off my heel, and not because I have small feet, but just the action of kicking causes the freely-pivoting strap to gradually fall down the achilles tendon. Also, the strap digs into the skin a little. There are no soft edges.3. Sizing: I wear a women's 10, but I still had to tighten the straps on the very tightest setting, so if you have smaller feet than that, you'll certainly have a problem with the fin staying on. And yes, other reviewers are correct in that this is really made for people with narrow feet. I know this because I have narrow feet and the fit is still very snug. It will definitely fit a large foot, LENGTH-wise, but likely not in its corresponding width. If you're a strong guy with big feet, this fin likely won't fit, and if it does, it will lack the propulsion to match your strength. And as for freediving in open waters (it states you can use it in the ocean), I wouldn't recommend it due to the fact that it slips off the heel (keep in mind it doesn't float), and digs into the heel, making long swims uncomfortable. And of course there is a real lack of propulsion with the flimsy plastic. For open waters, you must absolutely invest more money in a European monofin, as they have been making them longer and they are better quality.

It cracked on first usage.
It was a gift for my little cousin, back in Summer 2013, whose feet happen to be larger than usual for a 13 year old. He's a size 10, but very wide feet. He loves everything about fishes and mermaids etc. so his excitement for this was beyond! We had gone to a pool to try it out and not even 10 minutes it cracked, I couldn't believe it! I promised I would try and get another one but Amazon only offered for me to return the product to them and give me a refund and repurchase. At first, I said cool! But then I realized that there was a restocking fee (which I was OK with) but then I noticed the price went up for the product so in the long run I was going to lose money and potentially waste it again if it were to crack again.I'm rating to two stars because the shipping was great! It got here on time as expected with my Prime membership. However if you're feet are narrow, go for it! But, BEWARE, don't lend to others with wide feet like my cousin.

Nice fin for beginners
I've been using the Finis Rapid mono fin for 1/2 year now, 2x week in the pool. So far no problems with any failing parts. If you have never tried a mono fin yet and just want to use it for recreational swim training this is a good fin for a reasonable price. The rubber of the "Rapid" is rather soft so that the blade bends easier which makes it less difficult to swim with. The down side of this effect is that you will never reach top performance. If you want to go serious you might want to get a more professional fin with a fiber glass blade and closed heels. However, for new mono fin users (like me) the Rapid fin provides a good workout and you will notice a difference in your swimming results and overall fitness after a few weeks. On that note - training with a mono fin is probably one of the most efficient ways to strengthen your lower back and core section without putting load on it compared to any type of weight training.I do agree with the others though that the foot pocket is on the narrow side. I have shoe size 10 for men and my feet fit barely. Little improvement tip for the manufacturer: Next time they design a new product that is supposed fit people in the U.S. or Europe, don't take the measurements in China ;-)
