Fresh peppers in my kitchen
I started my peppers mid November, started picking green peppers mid January and now have red peppers mid February. I was disappointed at first that there were only 7 peppers on the plant but as soon as I started picking them, more flowers appeared. The plant is now loaded with flowers and peppers of all sizes from small to ready to pick at about 3-4" so it looks like I will be having fresh peppers for some time to come. And they taste delicious. I'm ecstatic. I'm even thinking about not bothering to plant them outside in the spring any more - no more dealing with insect pests, late frosts and weeds.

Grows well
This is my garden after 130 days. I've really enjoyed growing these peppers. The only thing I don't like is the price. All of the AeroGarden kits and supplies seem overpriced, but it does works really well. My garden had more pod spaces than the kit gave, so I recycled the plastic pods from a previous herb garden and I had bought their soil pods from them a while ago and was able to take the extra seedling sprouts and put them in the empty spaces. I definitely think that limited how big they could grow though. The jalapenos grow the fastest, then the red chili peppers, and then the purple super hots. I wish I had pruned the jalapenos a little earlier so that I could keep the whole garden level with the lights, but am happy with the peppers they're growing. I used a paintbrush to pollinate most of them. Light shaking also helped move pollen around a little, but shaking didn't always produce a cloud that looked like it was reaching the other flowers. Finally I haven't had any problems with pods not growing/getting sick/dying and it grows like crazy. I haven't picked any of the peppers yet, but plan to soon, I would highly recommend growing peppers in your garden.

AeroGarden Chili Pepper Seed Pod - Seven Pod Kit
After initially planting an herb garden in my seven pod LED light model and using all of the slots, I vowed never to do that again. It was too crowded with some things demanding an enormous amount of space, like the dill, forcing the other plants to fight for light and space. Three or four plants seems a more reasonable quantity while using the little clear caps over the empty openings. After the herb garden ran its course I purchased the pepper pod kit. I divided seven pod package into two plantings, so when the first group was done I’d plant the remaining pods. I bought this kit because the idea of growing peppers is appealing, but based on the first pepper pods planted, the results are mixed. The second group just started to sprout.First, this is at least a three month process to get any peppers, so patience is required, and when the plants finally begin to grow they can quickly get way too big for the device’s container. Diligent maintenance is required because unlike the herb garden, where leaves from the plants are regularly picked for use so some pruning is automatically occurring, the pepper plants need more focused attention. After the sprouts reach approximately three inches thin out all but one strong sprout. It is tempting to try to keep them all but there is simply no room, and all will suffer. Regular pruning to get the plants to grow in width with height controlled is the goal. And, manual pollination is necessary to obtain any quantity of peppers. This is not difficult, a cotton swab may be used to gently remove some of the pollen from the center of the flower in the same way a bee or the wind would in nature. The company recommends shaking the flowers, and there are a couple of videos online showing the process, but it is less effective, some blooms can be missed, and I did inadvertently break one off doing it that way. There is more precision gently using the cotton swab – then you know all were pollinated rather than hope the shaking took care of all of the blooms. The frustration is that even after meticulously following these steps, actual pepper harvest can be quite small. And, it is all too easy for the plants to get out of control, and this is not an attractive situation. At times I felt like there was a big mess on the kitchen island in contrast to my hope for a small thriving green and growing environment.I do not regret trying the pepper pods and like the kit. Hopefully my second go-round will be better as I keep tight control over the plants. But, if the plan is to complete the growth cycle with the AeroGarden rather than moving them outside, the small lettuce pods and herbs are better suited for this device. It can be a fun project if expectations for a big harvest are reigned in, pruning is done to control growth and blossoms are faithfully pollinated.

I expect to get what I paid for
I ordered the Salsa Garden seed poof kit. It contains 7 pods. I opened it and there were 3 pods. I was disappointed but didn’t read the box until I had already set the pods in the AeroGarden

Incredible crop!
I've been using my Aerogarden for a couple years and have tried several different plant kits, but the chili pepper kit is by far the most prolific one yet. Peppers keep growing in wave after wave - green, orange, red and shades in between and they all have different heat levels and their kick shouldn't be underestimated. After about three months they're still coming in abundantly. These plants are very thirsty, so you'll have to keep a close eye on the water level. I have to refill almost every other day. Very very pleased with this kit! Very highly recommended.

Love my Salsa Mix!!
I have an older version AeroGarden and wanted to give it another try. I am SO happy with the results seeded pods that I ordered that I'll reorder the Salsa mix again soon. The seeded pods started to sprout a lot faster then the guidelines stated; waaayyy faster then the seeded pods that came with the original AeroGarden (fresher seeds maybe?). I highly recommend these for the India gardener.(Update 6/20/17) I love how quickly the tomato plants grew. But the biggest surprise was the Jalapeño plant☺. Though the makers of AreoGarden might not recommend it, I have transferred the plants to containers with soil....and BOY did they take off. Being an Urban apartment dweller I have to have a porch garden. Will be ordering more seeded pods shortly.

ATTENTION!! NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!!!
This is false / misleading advertising!Amazon options include 3 pods, 6 pods or 9 pods. I paid for 9 pods, the box says "9 seed pods", and the box says "net contents: 9 seed pods (0.04 oz each) - Total 0.36 oz"But there are 4 pods in the box. Yes, there it says "4 pods" in the title, but then you have options for how many pods you get. Reviewers have stated this as well, but I added this to my cart as a quick add when buying other pods - so I didn't read the reviews.Further, the price for 9 pods in this kit is the same price as 9 pods in other kits. So that leads to the misleading nature of this advertisement.I called their support line to inform them that I only received 4, and they told me that I don't need 9. That the plants grow large, so 9 is too many. 4 pods are in the box, because that's sufficient for a garden. WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT?! I buy 9 pods of herbs, but normally only grow 3-4 at a time, the others wait their turn!I will be submitted a legal complaint to the Government of Canada as a result of this misleading advertising, and the abhorrent service, which was clearly a practiced script and still abhorrent.

Buyer beware - box only had 4 of 9 pods
I picked up a bunch of seed pods November of 2017. Just opened up this pack to put in the AeroGarden and there were only 4 pods instead of the 9 I PAID FOR. I should have read the reviews. It seems like these packs are often missing contents. So disappointing. This is the second time this has happened to me. I should start buying them at the store and opening them at the register. Buyer beware. Take videos of you unboxing!

A LOT OF MONEY WASTED. One of the most unreliable products out there!!!
I love the idea and when this product works its great. I have had 3 units replaced, one was replaced by the wrong model. So many kits have failed. The last kit, the salsa kit, only 1 jalenpeno sprouted at after 7 weeks it is about 1 inch high and the original two leaves have not opened. So, 1/2 the kit failed. The tomatoes? Well, one sprouted as intended and is doing well. The other two took an additional 3 weeks to sprout and now are about 1/2 the size of the first sprouter.I also bought some golden tomatoes at the same time. Only 2 of the 6 have sprouted. They were planted at the same time as the others and they are only about 2 inches high with 4 leaves. Again a FAIL.I’ve worked with the Aerogardens for a year now. Sometimes they are great but overall, I wasted a lot of money on them. A LOT OF MONEY WASTED. I’m not even going to contact the company.Oh, did I mention that the one time I bought directly through the company, not from Amazon, my card information was compromised? Again, a fail at the company’s end. *SIGH* I’m just done with these guys.

So Far So Good
I am using a six-pod AeroGarden Harvest Elite. But I bought the nine-pod seed kit as it was cheaper than the six-pod one when I bought them! I planted six pods - two of each kind. Out of six - Jalapeno germinated first followed by Red Fire Chilly plants. Both had started germinating within 48 hours. On day 21, one of the Purple Super Hot plants finally started to germinate. But by that time the other two types grew so big, the tiny Purple Super Hot plant was not getting enough light as the large leaves of the other plants covering the light. So, eventually, it did not survive, and another Purple Super Hot seed pod never germinated. So, overall I got four seed pods to germinate out of six. No Purple Super Hot for me!By day 34, Jalapeno plants grew so big, they started touching the light panel (see the picture). It’s burning the leaves. In the past, I had grown herbs which were easy since you can cut the leaves and eat them. But with the chilli plant, it’s a challenge. I wish I can remove the light panel and put the plants under my separate grow lights. Also, as the plants grow, they need water every couple of days - every two-week watering is not enough anymore.I would suggest if you have a six-pod AeroGarden like mine, plant only three not all six pods so that they can have enough space to grow and can have enough light. Also, if you can’t extend the light-bar more than 12 inches (if you don’t have a larger model of AeroGarden), then I suggest you stick to herbs and vegetables that you can cut and consume to keep the overall plant height shorter than the light panel. Now I am looking for a way to keep the plants out of the light panel. I will update the review again, once I get some flowers and then, hopefully, some chillies. The pictures are from day 12 and 34 if you are wondering.Update Day 40: Already got some flowers for the Jalapeno plants. I am using a "Be the Bee Pollinator" to pollinate them (see the picture of Day 40). No Purple Super Hot plants yet - one had germinated but did not grow big, and the other did not germinate at all!Update Day 52: Already got some Jalapenos (see the Day 52 picture). It was like magic, nothing was there the day before (or I did not notice) and the next day a couple of Jalapenos hanging there. The plants also grew taller than the light stand (see the second picture of Day 52). I had to push them out so that they don't touch the light panel ceiling. Looks like using the "Be the Bee Pollinator" for pollination did the trick. In the second picture of Day 52, you can see it's snowing outside and I am growing Jalapenos indoor which is kind of fun.Update Day 78: Added a picture with Red Fire Chilly - got plenty of them. Also, harvested my first Jalapenos, was waiting for them to become mature enough (grow 2 to 3 inches long and turn dark green). Waiting paid off - they tasted super hot when I tried them as pizza toppings. So, other than Purple Super Hot which never germinated (had planted two pods), the project was successful otherwise. From my experience of growing them this time, I can say, if I grow chilly peppers next time, I would probably only plant three of them in my 6-pod unit so that each can have enough space to grow freely, and also I will plant them in the summer so that the tops can get enough light when they grow beyond the light panel.
