Worked well for my relaxed to natural hair
Loved this product for many reasons: a) it did not burn my hair and I did not have to put up with that awful burnt odor. It's awesome that I can control the temp. as my hair is in transition. b) it gets really close to the roots and you don't have to keep going over the hair more than a few times (I have very thick 4b-c in some sections hair). I use a higher temp (?400) for the natural parts and the lowest setting (175) for the relaxed ends. c) If you love to wear your hair in many styles this is a breeze and you're hair will look amazing. The only dislike I have is that there is no actual temp markings except for the ridges on the gauge for the in between temps so I am guessing when I say I use about 400. Overall, it was a wonderful buy for me!!!!!!!!!

Best Flat Iron up to date
I’ve been looking for a flat iron for a long time and I finally started doing some research. This is by far the best flat iron i am using in a long time. My hair is very curly, comparable to 4b/4c hair and after Blow drying (which I never get my hair straight enough because it’s so thick) one to two passes and my hair is bone straight. I was shocked! This flat iron has my hair looking like I went out and got a silk press! Ceramic plates over titanium for my hair type worked for me. Heats up in about 60 seconds, the cord is long and goes up to 450 degrees. I stayed around 350 because I didn’t want to burn my hair but overall I highly recommend.

Quit working less than two months after purchase
Great flat iron but quit working less than two months after I purchased it. Not even used daily so it shouldn’t quit working and this soon!Of course it’s outside of the return window.Move on and purchase a different flat iron.

Worth the money!
This flat iron is great so far on my short pixie cut. I tried a cheaper one and it snagged my hair and didn’t provide the smooth look I wanted.

Should've Known Better
The brand is not the problem, in this case. I've been using FHI styling tools for years, and have never come across such a situation as this. Unfortunately, I suppose I can only place blame on myself for not having fully read into the seller (I online shop a lot, and tend to skim reviews, unless buying from a website I've never been a customer w previously). I hate to only give one star, but this was my experience:I am an Amazon Prime member, and shop on Amazon a few times a month for various items. Regretfully, I simply looked at how many stars it had received and used the 1-click buy option. I received it less than 48 hours later, and couldn't wait to use it! Shortly after plugging it on, however, did I notice the actual plates were taking a long time to warm up. Minutes went by (which, to the best of my memory wouldn't have been the case w any FHI products; if I recall correctly they were all ready to use within 60 seconds or so), and I inspected: the plates rocked back and forth, the manufacturing "stam" (for lack of a better term) appeared to have been air brushed on (I could literally wipe it away w my finger), and after several minutes of waiting, and hoping, and wishing, and dreaming, it failed to give the mere illusion it would ever be capable of styling anything. After all of this, I immediately pulled up the seller's profile and was struck w numerous complaints of customers having experienced something along the lines of what happened to me. The worst part is FHI wouldn't honor their warranty, seeing as the product wasn't sold by an authorized seller. Needless to say, I think the lesson here is, no matter how experienced of an online shopper you may deem yourself, always do your homework. In hindsight, I made every mistake an online shopping novice would. I read reviews like this all of the time, but never thought it'd actually happen to me, Oh, well. You live and you learn.

All around great
I really love this iron. The ceramic plates are super smooth and have a little “give” to them, so it’s perfect for straightening, curling, or beach waves. The cord is very long, and the plates cool down pretty quickly which is great when you’re traveling and you need to put it in your bag after a few minutes. The only thing I am not crazy about is that the temp is controlled by a dial and not buttons where you can set it to the exact temp you want. But I still have five stars because it’s $80, not $200. If you need one with buttons, you’re just going to need to spend more.
