Hot Rod

I bought this because I like the movie. The movie is funny as hell. Now days, it’s hard to find physical movies in stores. The only draw from my delivery was that the disk was scratched and smudged up like it was used or opened. It’s suppose to been a new movie but didn’t look new.?????

Quirky, fearless in its weird point of view, but it will give you a big bear hug of humor and heart. You just have to give in to its unique approach. But it's basically a story of a kid who fights for the acceptance of his father. Plus the best Footloose parody you'll ever see.

Favorite comedy of all time. So glad I picked up the blu ray!

`Hot Rod' is a hilarious comedy with the best cheesy eighties soundtrack you will ever hear. Following a teenage stuntman who plans to jump 15 buses to raise 50k for his stepfathers heart operation, this film has many laugh out loud moments and reminded me of `Waynes World' for it's outlandish fantasies and shameless homage to all things geeky and kitsch. Everyone plays their roles perfectly and the deadpan delivery of some lines and the completely off the wall touches had me laughing out loud at various points throughout the film. The punch dance is a particular highlight and there is an feature on the extras showing the filming of this scene. The eighties power ballads really added to the overall feel of the film and although extremely cheesy, fit perfectly with the characters and story, who isn't inspired by an eighties rock song behind a stunt sequence eh! This is short at just over 80 minutes but it achieves what it sets out to and is a light hearted, fun, off the wall comedy. I like old black and white Japanese movies, I like Sense and Sensibility (don't tell anyone) this is not a film of Oscar worthy script, acting or anything at all....But... it is comedy genius and a great abstract pant wetting tale. There's a couple of cringe moments which you have to forgive but the majority is pure gold.Sometimes you need to be a little less serious and this film is all about that. The footloose parody is awesome and the movie climax is perfect and although a little predictable still managed to catch me by surprise.Watch it, love it tie up your friends and force them to watch it too.

Been wanting this film for a while, saw it when I was younger and never got the DVD. Lots of special features to enjoy, plus the film is hilarious. Though the 12 age rating seems to be too low for me, because of some harsh bad language, not too much though, so I would give it a watch if this is a gift for someone under than 15. Apart from that, and since I'm 23, great movie, would recommend to anyone who wants a good laugh.

I have watched this film about 10 times, and love it. Very original, very surreal but still accessible. It is not for someone new to western-comedy. There are lots of scenes where you are sure they parodying a particular 80's film, but you can't quite put your finger on it. If you enjoyed Anchor Man and Blades of Glory, then that is a fairly safe check that you will be able to enjoy the film; I am not saying it is as good as those but you should be in the right ballpark, humour wise.

A modern day hero and a homage to the great evil Knievel himself. a true great film spotted with comedy, puns and jokes throughout to really help you to appreciate what those daredevils have to go through in the early stages of their careers to really make it in the business.
