I ordered this, and another Koofin shirt, knowing that I'd really only keep one of them. I'm keeping this one only because I like the print slightly better. I also think the sleeves are not as long on this one (the review I'm writing about now).Don't think you can go wrong with this brand.And a word to their customer service dept if they're monitoring these reviews; a big plus was the Free Returns option.

I have never owned a performance short of any kind. I live in Texas where the summers are hot and sunburns are even worse. I got this to try out thinking I would use it for cooler days on the lake. I did wear it out one day in July that it was around 100 degrees and I was surprisingly comfortable. The vents on your sides let air in when there is a breeze. It also meant I didn't have to use sunscreen. No sunburn through the shirt even though it is a thin material.

It came on the promised date, June 6, it was neatly packaged, and it fit as expected. The shirt is very light; actually, I can barely feel that I have it on my body. It is some kind of light, thin, stretchable, fabric. I expect that it will be a good thing to wear during warm days and it is possible that it also will be good to use it on breezy days; e.g., in a boat. For the price I paid, it looks and feels like a great buy. My wife's first statement was: "It makes her husband look young." Hold up well with frequent use and washing, good value for the $29 price point. As for sizing comparison, the medium Koofin is very comparable to the small Huk. Material is a tiny bit heavier than Huk, but seems like the UPF doesn't work quite as well, still does a good job though. Would love to see these in bright orange camo for ocean kayak fishing/visibilty and a quarter zip with small mock collar to give more complete coverage. Buffs tuck in OK but tend to slip out leaving small area at back of neck exposed.Update after 6months of heavy use: Original comments were pretty accurate, the SPF does seem to work just fine. I have 3 of these and various Huk shirts, I prefer the Koofin with the "mesh" side strips, they breathe well and help keep you cool. I wash these probable two-3 times weekly and they held up excellent. The biggest downside I still see is the lack of hi-viz orange or chartreuse coloring for visibility in the ocean kayak setting. The mustard yellowish color they offer is about the same as dirty sea foam, not a better option for hi-viz/safety. Aside from that, I love these shirts for functionality.

First Review! I scoured amazon for a great deal on a fishing shirt and ran across this. Lots of reviews on cheap products say you get what you paid for, but these shirts are amazing and feel very nice. Ordered an XL for the hubby to wear on a fishing trip. Fit - not too loose or tight. Hubby is 6'3'' 190 to give you an idea on size. Side has nice mesh vents to keep you cool. This seems like a great deal for the money and the design/patterns are exactly as pictured (hubby got both). Will update comments on breathability and anything else he notices after his fishing trip.

I've worn this swimming in chlorine pools,salt water pools and the great lakes. I used this as a hiking shirt in the Wasatch Mountains. Quick to dry, keeps the sun off me, comfortable, breathes well, doesn't chill me when its wet and the wind is blowing, this shirt does it all. It got the hiker funk but more importantly I was able to wash the hiker funk out. I highly recommend this shirt.

Great Material. Love it. It really breaths in the hot sun. It gets a little hot if you give your back to the Sun too long. Still have to check for shrinking but with this material I recommend dry clean. I recommend it, bought another with different material and company and it shrunk first washed. I wish The company would sponsor me. I am getting it in different colors.

I bought one as a Father’s Day gift for my father because he’s had some melanoma spots removed recently and is very sensitive to UV rays and he LOVES this shirt! It keeps him cool in the hot sun with side vented panels. No other fishing shorts have those breathable panels. Dad realized he liked it so much he wanted another, so I picked up one more for him. Then my husband admired so much that I had to get him one too. My husband bought something similar at the big fishing store and he doesn’t like that brand nearly as much as this one. The men that have worn it absolutely LOvE this shirt!! Can’t say enough good about this one!
