Loving Our Kids On Purpose (workbook) New Edition: Preparing Our Kids for the Kingdom of God

I really like this book, we haven't gotten too far in it yet. However, I like the layout and the lessons, lots to think about and implement.

The class that goes with this workbook has been life changing. Everything Danny Silk says in his videos (which is basically all in the workbook as well) has left us feeling like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders and given us the freedom to parent in a loving, respectful way. We are only on week 4 at the time I'm writing this, and have already seen a huge difference in our children as we have started using Danny's approaches to situations. I believe what we are learning not only applies to children, but can be applied in every other relationship and encounter we have as well. If you can find a church offering this class or get a group together to do this study together I would highly recommend it. The "parenting guide" every parent should have in their back pocket!

This book landed in my hands at the perfect time! We have been having discipline issues with my 3 year old and this book has really changed my thinking on how to handle and deal with my daughter. This book is not just a parenting book it is a book that helps you understand your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and how that impacts raising our kids. I love it and plan on doing a Bible study with it. I encourage people to read this to help you examine your walk with Christ, to dispel presuppositions in how you were raised, and to draw you closer as a family. Funny stories are told about his personal experiences with raising his own kids have you laughing up a storm, and realize as a parent you are not alone and that there is a way to have a relationship with your kids while teaching them to make wise choices! Wish I had read this sooner!

So many tips and tricks to help me reset when I get in a rut! Leading a study with this to hopefully help other parents. Similar thinking to the love and logic stuff, but with a Christian perspective

This book has great suggestions for new parents & long time parents. However, some of the suggestions are geared towards kids 5 & up. This book has helped me stay calm more frequently & think about other ways to help my kids without trying to make them fear me. I loved it so much that I'm leading a moms group and using this book.

There is absolutely no reason not to see a 100% improvement in your relationship with your children after reading this material. It's not a panacea but life will be much more peaceful in your home after following some of the guidelines in the book.

Relationship over right and wrong. teaching kids to own their problems so they can be empowered to solve them, and how to love them thru it. the DVD teaching that goes with this is absolutely great.

The lessons in here about connecting with your kids are gold! I am very happy we have found this book.

Haven't as yet used it, but the content and questions are thought provoking and I am hoping this will help me to think through some of the important questions that will enable me to change my parenting habits!

Super book. Gives you extremely interesting insights into bringing your children up in love, not fear. Great techniques but would highly recommend backing the book up with the parenting course or dvds.
