Cute and Made in USA
I bought this as a gift and the recipient loved how cute it was. Time will tell if it will be liked for a long time. I hope so. I paid a little more to get the "Made in USA" claim. The product is still made out of kind of cheesy plastic but that's today's world. Again time will tell. Will update this if my friend isn't still my friend after spending time with this gift.

A distinguished gentleman!
He is so cute in my kitchen! I was so happy that his tick-took sound is so quiet; you have to really "listen" to hear it. When I first unboxed him, I was worried he was too small, but he's actually perfect. Don't panic if you can't find his tail at first, it's in a special slot in the box's lid. Be sure to read all panels of the box for info and interesting factoids.

This The Clock We Didn't Know We Needed
We were looking for a clock to put up in the kitchen. We went back and forth on getting the Kit Cat for a week or two. We finally purchased it.It's an American Classic that is still made in America. It arrived quickly and like others found the tail on the side of the box. We didn't have any issues with the eye and tail movement stopping. We did hear a slight squeek from the tail so I moved the top of the clock away from the wall about 1/8" and the noise went away. It's been keeping an eye on the kitchen for about 2 months and all is well! We love the clock.

After hours, it finally works!
The media could not be loaded. **I got mine to work buy attaching a small counterweight to the bottom backside of the tail. It works perfectly at full swing, flush against the wall, no weird angles or need to prop it up. I rolled up about 4in of grey duct tape and taped it to the back of bottom of the tail. Don't add too much weight or you might break the mechanism inside as it's fragile, just need a tiny bit extra**At first when I got it, right away I noticed that it is made of cheap plastic, it doesn't feel worth 60 bucks. I bought the 15in version, and this is very misleading as the cat itself is about half that size. It is way smaller than you think. The 15in one takes two C batteries, which is kind of an odd size for something like this. Don't miss the tail in the box, it is clipped to the inside of the lid.Honestly, after about a few hours of watching videos, reading reviews and troubleshooting, I was convinced that my clock was broken and was going to return it, because I couldn't get the tail/eyes to swing/rotate. After all that I finally figured out that the tail is too light to keep the momentum going on the swinging pendulum inside. Tail would drag against inside wall of the clock making it hard for the tail to keep moving. I even tried hanging at various angles as listed in the instructions.Once I got this working I must say I am very happy with this clock. I still think it is overpriced, made extremely cheap, and bad that it comes with the design defect of the tail being too light, however, once I got it working, it is everything I really wanted, when I made this purchase. I would recommend to others, as despite the price it is actually probably the cheapest you will find it currently. (Unless you find one at a thrift store or something, and probably need to fix it). Please try my method if you absolutely can't get it to work, as once you see it working to full function it's really awesome, and you will remember why you bought it in the first place. :)

TRICKY TAIL HERES THE FIX!
I love this retro cat clock, that said, the tail and eyes didn’t want to stay moving so I slid a 1/3” piece of foam right under it at the bottom.WORKS LIKE A CHARM!2 week update~tail and eyes stopped. I slid the clock forward on the screw and moved the foam higher up towards the upper part of clock. It’s been running nonstop without any problems! It’s worth having to tweek it. The clock is so cool and once again works like a charm! Great clock, don’t give up!

Fun & Festive for Fall or Halloween! Trick: Hang Clock on Level/Vertical Wall
My aunt owns an electric red Kit Cat clock she purchased in 1991. Unfortunately, electric ones are no longer manufactured. Now they are all battery-operated. We wanted to buy another one, and this autumn-themed Kit Cat clock is perfect. It's a charming piece of nostalgia, and done in colors that perfect for Fall and Halloween. The cat is bright orange with a black tail and bow tie. It is a limited edition, so you should pick one up soon before they're gone. What's great is this clock comes in a variety of colors and patterns. We plan on buying a yellow one for my son's room and an orange one for our other bedroom. A pink Lady clock will be added to the bathroom. We're cat lovers, so these clocks fit our personality and home. I just wish the eyes and tail were easier to animate. The advantage of the battery-operated clocks is that you can hang them anywhere; you're not tied to a wall outlet. The disadvantage is the magnetic system used to animate the eyes and tail on these battery-operated clocks. It is very sensitive, and where you hang the clock becomes tricky. Our Autumn clock worked well when I held him upright in my hand. However, when I hung him up on the wall in our kitchen, the eyes and tail would not move, but the clock mechanism worked fine.I checked the FAQs on the Kit Cat clock website and it stated to have the nail perpendicular or slightly angled in the wall, and don't hang the clock flush against the wall. Allow 1/2" space at the head area. So you'll need a fairly long nail. We tried this, and it didn't work. My husband suggested we move the clock slightly left at the bottom. The eyes and tail barely moved, but at least they were moving. Then after an hour, they stopped. We were about to give up and start a return on this clock, but decided to move the clock to another wall, and now he works great. Apparently the wall has to be level and vertical. Since home construction is not perfect, this clock may work on certain walls and not on others in your home. It's not easy to get the eyes and tail working, unless you're lucky and hang it on a wall with the right conditions. It's too bad the California Clock Company couldn't either make an electric version of this clock or come up with an less sensitive animation system that would readily work on any wall of your home.Other reviewers have commented that the plastic used for this clock is cheap-looking. My aunt's old electric Kit Cat clock from 1991 is made of the exact same plastic with the same thickness. So the clocks are the same quality as the electric ones from 1991. I'll admit these clocks are expensive for the materials used, but the main reason people are unhappy is because there's no guarantee the eyes and tail will animate.Update: I purchased the pumpkin orange Kit Cat clock also. He worked right away. However, I tested a couple of walls in my home by removing an existing item and hanging him up in its place. That was how I tested to see if the wall was level and vertical. Once I determined that, I put up the Pumpkin clock and he worked like a charm. I also own a black Kit Cat clock that had the same problem of the eyes not moving. Once I moved him to a suitable wall, he now works like a charm as well.

Clock is adorable!
The media could not be loaded. The clock is gorgeous, I have wanted one of these for a while and now thanks to a generous present from family I have got one. The colour is good, and the cat is so cute it makes me smile every time I look at it.
