I purchased this at the end of 2016. I was using it religiously at the beginning for about 3 months. I saw brighter and calmer skin and was very happy with it. However after a while (with about 1/4 left in the bottle and product started getting really thin, and I felt like it was not as effective as before. Knowing Vitamin C oxidizes (or just lose its potency when interact with air..) I'd say to use it as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Ok, I've got to change my review to 5 stars in part because after using regularly twice a day and occasionally adding a dab in between if I'm near it I do see it has made a difference. Short of dermatology treatments nothing will give aging skin a Miracle cure, but this isn't one of many ineffective cheap products that employs deceptive advertising vs results. HOWEVER- I had to up the stars also because when the company saw my review they immediately emailed me and said they were shipping me another bottle since I broke mine day one. Victoria emailed back and forth with me to give me input on skin concerns and was not a salesy person, but I very sincere advocate of the company and its products. I haven't received that level of service in a while and to top it off when my new bottle came she included a full size jar of daily moisturizer to try with the serum and in combination they work great. I was freaking out about the crepey neck skin I had started developing as although I regularly pass for 5-7 years younger from good skin habits the crepey thing can't be avoided with age and it made me cringe when I passed a mirror. I'm going to try their eye cream next as these are very effective products at a good price. - I did not ask for any free product to try, I just ordered after some research- although they were kind enough to replace what I broke and let me try another product free I wouldn't give a positive review if it wasn't good--there are too many fake reviews or in incentivized reviews out there and it ticks me off as it makes it very hard to separate good products from sneaky marketing. Candid Essentials Is NOT sharky. They have a good product and good service and I appreciate that.Initially I gave 4 stars to the serum as when I used it for the first time today I felt and saw an immediate firming (slight tingle, but not painful and I have fair sensitive skin) but dropped the bottle which smashed all over the bathroom floor, so I don't know how it works long term :( as it's now in the trash bin.

I've used a lot of different products over the years, and I use to make my own Vitamin C serum,, but I wouldn't be consistent in using it and I didn't know how to make it more stable. I based my choice on the percentages and ratios of the ingredients, the only one I didn't see is the hyaluronic acid. Regardless, It seems like so many people have fabulous things to say about so many products, and while I have a fairly good complexion, I never had people say my skin was "glowing," or "brighter." Not even prescription creams. Well, I've used this for about two weeks and I didn't think it realistic to expect a noticeable difference quickly, if at all. I know how it works, and at best I was hoping for something to help slow some of the wrinkling process. I did have a few dark spots on my jaw; a side effect of medicine I have to take. I hoped it would help lighten these, because the prescription cream to lighten the spots does damage skin by thinning the skin and decreases collagen and it's irreversible.Yesterday, to my shock, my husband looked at me and said, "you look really good. Your skin looks different, somehow, better." Maybe something some husbands may notice, but mine doesn't even notice when I change my hair color or lose 10 pounds. So I really examined my skin under magnification and I did see a pronounced decrease in the dark spots, they were almost imperceptible after 4 years of trying everything, and redness from general sensitivity is greatly diminished. I left one discoloration untouched by the serum and now I regret not taking before and after pictures.

No significant effect on me. Did not make my skin better or worse. I already am on a pretty comprehensive skincare routine of cleanse, tone, serum, oil & moisturise before using this. I replaced my current serum with this and did not see a difference after completing a bottle. I do not have any major skin issues, other than my slightly oily t-zone and enlarged pores there. This did not help with refining my pores or regulating my sebum production. I also did not see any brightening or firming effect. I am 44, female, living in a tropical country.

I bought this after reading the reviews. I will say I much prefer the reviews from someone who pruchased it with out compensation. I was interested in it for the tightening effects, the evening of skin tones and the diminishing of age spots. I think this product accomplishes all three. I read somewhere that using it at night is better as it can make your skin more sensitive to light. I let it soak in for a bit before putting on a moisturizing creme. I have been using another product for age sport and apparently there is a difference between age spots(hereditary) and sun spots (sun damage). Where the other product worked well on the sun spots it did nothing for the one age spot. This product hasn't gotten rid of it either but it is much better looking. I think I'll have to have a laser treatment on this one but it should be much easier to get rid of now. I do think it has imporoved my skin tone. I have Roscea so that has always been a problem. If I didn't have the age spot, I could honestly feel comfortable without makeup which I have never done and I'm not in my mid-fifties. So yes, I do think this product works and I know my dermatologist is very big on using serums like this for one's skin.

This is OK and I will finish the bottle, but I won't repurchase. I'm about 1/2 way through, I've kept hoping to see a differance, but it's not happened as yet.... my 40 something skin hasn't got any worse, but I have used better simular products at a similar price.... my be it's my skin. On a plus it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and drys very quickly.... I leave it about 6 minster before applying my moisturiser, just a bit disappointed... its just OK.
